I need to shave me some more weight off of my car. I have been thinking about a k-member but i am also adding a 6 pt cage from MM.

Just taking out my seats and putting in the Corbeau's keeps me from hitting the speed bumps on my housing street.

Went out today and pulled the remaining plastic vents from behind the dash. Pulled some wiring that is no longer needed, windshield wiper motor, mechanical arm for wipers, some padding under the dash and on the floor board.

Saved another 20lbs

Total = 124lbs!

Still haven't taken out door speakers, rear speakers, rear seats, or Carpet padding.

I doubt you went this deep in the dash. I'm wondering if anything is gonna work when I put it back together. LOL

Pulled some more weight yesterday. Since I sold my seats I pulled them last night to bring to the Q. I weighed them before I packed them up. I already knew the fronts were 37lbs, so I threw the rear pieces on the scale and each piece was 13lbs. So all together pulling the Driver seat and the rear seat is another 63lbs:

total to date = 187lbs

More weight to remove! I will also deduct 75 lbs for adding the 6 point roll bar and I have to weigh my new driver' seat and deduct that from the total.

Removed a few more things today. Only spent about 5 minutes outside. Took out the thick padding that was under the rear seat bench. I also took out the rear seat belts. This shaved another 10lbs. Also after making an aluminum bracket for my new race seat that will allow me to retain the factory seat bracket the seat now weighs 29lbs which is a 10lbs savings. Not much, but it adds up.

So that's 197lbs shaved minus the 29lb seat. That still puts me at 168lbs total weight lost, so far. More to come during the holidays.
