i have a 96saleen and to my knowledge it comes with the hurst shifter, the previous owner get a new trans put in 8 months ago but the car is shifting really hard and grinds from N to 1st, and also when i put it in reverse, any ideas what i could be?
but dont get the steeda one. i had the steeda one with no problems but a lot of other people had problems.... steeda said they fixed the problem(cable breaking) mine works just fine but pay the extra moneys and get the MM one
dont get a upr triple hook either. It caused my cable to break. Get the one that clicks each time you move it. Forgot the name. My upr you have to loosen adjust then tighten. I dont like it too much but it works.
so it dosent come stock with a firewall ajuster? i think the guy before me accualy put one in, where is it on the car? this is my first stang, sorry if i sound a little dumb on this stuff
i just checked the firewall it was a little loose so i tightened it and all seems well now, thanks alot guys, i was prayin i wouldent have to get trans work done
the best way to set it... is tighten it.. then see if you can put on the cable to were you can fit a quarter in between the cable and firewall adjuster.... that's what steeda says... i don't like that pedal feel of that, i like mine really tight... If you mess with it enough you will find a good spot for yourself and the car wont grind and the clutch wont slip...
