I haven't done it yet, but the hard-core Certificate of Authenticity guys tell met the best idea is to get a true copy made and have it laminated for shows and whatnot, save the original in pristine shape in case a new copy becomes necessary.

Yes, and then there is another little item: plaques that fit between the center A/C vents and over the radiator warning label under the hood. They show build date, VIN and the #xxx of xxx information. The guy who does them can do custom plaques, too.
