street scene?

Well from my experiance in the past back in Houston Texas there was a huge Night time street scene with tons of illegal street racing going on friday and saturday night and we had 3 seperate places we would go that were like in warehouse districts where the cops would hardly ever come. it was nice until a spectator got hit once from a dumbass prelude driver. And then the "Thugs" started to come around and gangs and shootings and all that **** so then the comps would come break it up around 1am every night. But before that i had seen some of the best racing in my life, Trailor car chevelle vs. a 600hp viper, vettes and vipers, mustang everywhere, and of course the imports thinking they were the **** and realizing after they got smoked they werent. but it was nice, we always kept it on the DL where we were going and had to change things up eventually after the cops knew our 3 main spots. but from what i hear now in houston that the street scene is just about completely dead, and everyone has just started going to either the 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile tracks.

Any of this kinda stuff go on out there in san diego?

We have a few places in south carolina that still let that happen. We have to change it up like every week though.

from what i have heard there are some places but the cops have a really cracked down the street scene, they started race legal at quallcom just to help elminate street racing as for us we dont condone it on this site....

I think its more fun on the track. Like to encouter on the street from time to time, but not like I used to.

yea houston was featured in a video called "you got the hit" a chicago street race team came down to houston, FL, and some where else. I am actually on the video well the whole video was street racing it is a pretty good video almost all muscle cars. the video was made by a company called "scandalous racing". we really enjoyed it when they came down some of the fastest track cars came out of the wood work just to race the assholes from chi-town, Steven Fareday was out he was on of the first LS1 cars into the 9's it was fun though, wish i could go back to those days lol.

Illegal street racing is really cracked down here in San Diego. We had a special unit a few years back that is dedicated to crack down street racing. We don't condone street racing in this club and encourage all racing on the track.

The thing about street racing that makes it dangerous is not just uncontrolled, its all those people and cars standing on the sides where the cars are running. We all know how cars can get loose at launch, and these people are toast if they do.

So why do a couple of yall keep going on and on about, how it is illegal, yes we all know it is illegal... how about just wow that was a BA video...any all of yall have street raced at 1 point or another.... No one means any malice towards you. The wonderful thing about this forum is that folks from all walks of life can get together here and chat, congregate, assist each other and the whole family is welcomed to enjoy.

Every mind is a different universe and we each have likes, dislikes and individual preferences. If watching those kind of videos and spectating at those events is your thing, by all means enjoy what you like. We are all adults and are aware of the consequences. What was hinted to before is that "as a club", we don't attend illegal street races or advertise/promote them. 'Most' here are military, law enforecement and individuals who simply prefer to hit those kind of speeds on a safe and sanctioned track.

The simple fact is that we are all here because we have one thing in common.....WE LOVE MUSTANGS. You don't have to own one or have the badest, fastest or cleanest...just be a fan.

I streer race on ocasion, but mostly keep it at the track. My record is just now clearing up and caant afford the risk of getting another ticket. I had 30 points against me in 30 day almost 4 years ago. Its off my 3 year record. But gotta wait for the five for my insurance to really drop down.

Nobody is talking down to you. I was simply making a statement about how stupid it is for the people to be standing around the cars that were racing.

I was doing the same thing when I was young with street racing and running when the cops are around. I was simply making a statement from the video and my own experience.

You would have to buy the video to see me im not in any of the trailors i dont think. I bought the video when i was in iraq and had it shipped to me. At one point i am doing the arm drop for the silver camaro (my buddy erics car) vs the green camaro (chicago guys car) the silver camaro just pretty much stands still when the green car takes off. My buddies car (the silver one) didnt have after market axels on it and he was push upwards of 500hp when he launched on the 200 shot of nitrous mixed with some E.T. Streets he twisted the axels where they go into the gear housing.... It wasnt a fun night after that, the car would barely budge. it was fun though.... i think we lost $200 on that race but won it back a couple weeks later after we installed some "strange" axels and we were launching at like 3800+ rpm, Oh yea he also had a 3800 stall in it to on a stage 3 tranny build. so pretty much on a low 11sec car we still had stock axels.

That video i believe was shot in 2003ish about a year be4 i joined the marines. god those times were some of the best racing times of my life.

lol I never had a camera much less a video camera to shot my street races in Baton Rouge. I had a 77 Ford Courier, that had a 289 v8, and all the trimings but it was 9 colors and had a soft ball size hole in the hood and sheetmetal covering that. My exhuast was set on a hinge so I could by-pass the cat and pipes for better flow. But with the truck only weighting in at 1400 deadwieght I had to add almost 700 ibs of front-end tractor weight to keep it on the ground. I had the best sleeper in my hometown. But after getting 7 drag racing tickets with it, it was time to go track or nothing so... I sold her and the guy that bought her tripled what I did to her so that truck was the fastest thing in southern La. Maybe one day I'll go TERLINGUA with the GB but for now I'll settle for being a pace car, lol
