ok cool, thanks emilio, and im gunna be running a 3.90 gear, still the tire i should go with?

Just run a 28x10.5 and listen to the below Quote... Don't go 3.90

"4V Cobra: The Cobra has an entirely different engine than most people are used to. It performs best at high rpms, upwards of 7000. It's power band is relatively high due to the deep breathing nature of the two intake valves. When gearing a Cobra, 3.73's just aren't enough. They don't allow the engine to reach its powerband quickly enough. 4.10 gears are an excellent choice and 4.30's are even better. This may sound very steep if you're used to the average 5.0 which needs to be shifted by 5600 rpm. But since this engine will easily rev to 7000 it needs the extra gear and it likes it. 4.30's are our #1 choice, naturally aspirated or supercharged. At 80 mph in fifth with 4.10's the engine only turns about 2700 rpm, completely tolerable."

umm, the original question is about a tire. Also it makes it a little easier to step up on the gears when you have a 6 speed. I'm assuming he does not. I would say go 410's though. Don't know how much you drive the car.

orange he has a 99Cobra they are the highest revving 4V. Remember Gary's 2001 Cobra 4.30 against my pullied cobra stock gears..

ya still a 4 valve, and no ive never been to the track, im not a car racer.... yet.... and as far as the tires, i would run E/Ts but i get hoosiers at such a great deal, and as far as gears, this is my daily driver and i drive between 60-200 miles a day, so i dont wanna go too steep, thats why im thinking 3.90s, and most of those miles are highway. and yes i drive a Mach 1 with a 5 speed

ok, im trusting you guys... damn my gas milage is gunna be ****....

you don't listen to well don't ya? so you wanna run 4.10's and then get force inducted?

general consensus is 3.73's for force induction / 4.10's (above / below or however you wanna say it) for n/a. BUT, seeing as the machs come with 3.55's, getting 3.73's won't change much. so a compromise was made between all the mach owners and they just decided to get 3.90's... it's near the border of what gear may be too much for forced induction, but it'll work.

been on many forums asking this same question... "what gears should i get if i want forced induction later on?" and i get the same answers every time. except in the registry. they say 3.90's cause machs come with 3.55's.

but hey, it'll be nice seeing you pay for everything twice...

sine its your daily driver go 3:73 gears and run a 26 inch tire at the track and a 28 inch tire on the street best of both worlds!

3:90s from what i remember sucked for roll races

well everything i've seen for 3.90's is for auto's because they have wider gear bands than 5 or 6 speed manuals.

3.73's for sticks/3.90's for auto's

and Shane, it's going to be a while before you go F/I.
and at your power level tires and suspension will make a biger differance.

oh, and one more thing Shane, what are you wanting from your car?
are you just wanting to run street/strip, autocross, dyno queen, or a mix of all of it like me. thats why i'm running 3.73's out back with my new setup.
