Tail Light Tinting

GT400SC

PM for Decals
Anyone ever used VHT Nightshades? It's a transparent tinted dye or paint in a traditional spray paint can used for tinting taillights, headlights, side markers, etc. Apparently, the more layers you put on, the darker the lamps appear to be from the outside yet the glow of the bulbs comes through anyway.

Anyone ever used this or see it on any rides?

The VHT website says it's available at Pep Boys but I went to my local store and they've never heard of it. Looks like I'll have to order it online if I want to buy some. Not available at Kragen or Auto Zone either. Doh!

The film is good too in case you even want to remove it but a little more difficult to put on in small crevices and on compound curves like round domed foglights.

I'll keep searching. It is available at Summit for $13.

I know the stickers are available but the cost is very prohibitive. Enough of the film to do my headlights, factory fogs and taillights is over $100.

The can is $13. The only drawback is it's pretty permanent. I'm sure if you really wanted to, you could peel yours off, right?

It's a decision between money and permanency.

Actually, I bought a second pair of taillights so, I would not have to peel them off every...:)

dont do the spray paint you guys, it always comes out uneven, or even sometimes it drips and looks streaky, i tried it on my car, i had to get new back lights cuz it looked like shit. im going with either the tint or the plastic covers

even with the covers off i cant see anythign. i think it has to do with the angle my car sits at. the headlights point at the ground
