Well i took the TERMI to Fresno Performance yesterday and had Greg look at it about the mis firing. He was able to finally get a code out of it because it never had any check engine light. He said Cylinder number 7 was miss firing. And he gave me three things that could be wrong.

1. He wants me to do a voltage check on the fuel injectors. If number seven is off from the rest then it is just the injectors.

2. He said it could be the coil pack on number 7. so i need to borrow a known good one from a 4 valve and put it in my car to see if it eliminates the miss fire.

He thinks it could be one of these simply because there is absolutly no oil blow by. I have no oil on any of my spark plugs, no oil any where in or around on the inside of my intake tube or throttle body. Also its not smoking at all. Like when Joe blow his motor he said there was a ton of smoke pouring out of it and Greg was telliing me that when Nate blew his stock motor up there was a little bit of smoke but mine has absolutley none. So he wants me to try these things out and if they dont work he said he'll give me a couple other things to try and if those dont work then he said for about $2800 they can build me a new motor .20 over with a little bit higher compression and if i throw another $850 on top they will put some cams in it too.

But for right now i am going to go the easy route and try the simple stuff so until then the TERMI is down.

Sorry about the race Charlie. I could have really put some new tires to good use.

quick way to check the piston is a compression checker...

disconnect fuel pump, start car, let it die, remove plug, insert checker, turn engine over 3-5x, take average of the strokes.

Well sorry i pointed this problem out chris.. I will bet its a coil.. if it was an injector it would have pulled a code alot easier.. swap coils just one number 7... will take all of 5 minutes..

this was done about 3 months ago..

i feel your pain Chris i just did a compression test on mine and my cylinder 7 was down 50% from stock and about 33% from what the other cylinders are currently running, if you wanna test the coils come on over and you can use mine

dude i would totally come over but Greg told me not to drive it anymore. He said drive it back home then park it until i figure out what is makeing it misfire. before i really **** something up.

Andy if you wouldnt have pointed it out i would have a blown motor by now!!!!!!!!!

I would need to have someone with a four valve come over to my house but the only one i know is dustin that can get their car on base.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^u fn w me right???

hay as far as that cooling mod goes, it seems like you could probably quite easily make one yourslef,,,, any body have any thoughts on that??

yea to much work to make it yourself when they aren't that expensive, and are really easy to screw up if you tried to make it yourself...

Its only a missfire at idle right... how is that going to blow your engine... did the guys pull the freeze frame out of the computer?? that will tell them what the car was doing when it set the code..such as engine temp, rpm, etc?

well i was thinking,,,, not to pirate out the thread,,,, put in another one of the plugs that are on the pass. side head, and put a t in the line then connect them!!! thats virtually all the kit is,,, except the connection would be in the tube and not made of metal...... i was thinking about tryin this out,,,, if it works out well ill let yall know and put up a write up!!
