Thanking God

Well guys i got really lucky last night and I'm thanking God for looking out for me. Driving home last night from the gym in Hanford, headed down Lacy just past 14th, someone pulled up next to me and the passenger pulled a hand gun on me and tried to car-jack me. They did it twice but the first time i didn't realize it cause it was dark. i just sat there looking into the car, not realizing i was actually staring at the barrel of a hand gun a few inches away from my face, so i sped up a little to pull away since i thought it was just someone being an ass. Then i slowed down and they sped up again but pulled up a little farther to cut me off and my headlights actually shined on the side of the car and i saw the passenger lean out of the window looking back at me pointing a black handgun at me. As soon as i saw it i locked the brakes up flipped the car around as fast as i could and floored it back to the sheriff's department and called 911 right away. i got f*cking lucky he didn't pull the trigger cause both times were point blank and a clear shot. I gave the cops as much info as i could, nearly brand new white Ford escape, very clean, and 2 males, in all black, gloves long sleeve shirts, and ski masks, and the passenger was either white or very light skinned hispanic. The sheriff i gave the statement to told me that a car matching that description was stolen the night before, 99% chance it was the same car. well i just wanted to let you all know what happened, be safe...

glad you're safe bro. one of the risks we take having the cars we do, is people will want them. either for their own or for chopping for parts.

put in your situation, i would've probably done the same things you did... but let's hope none of us are ever put in that situation or similar one again.

Man I am glad that turned out ok for you. Scary situation when it happens. I am glad you thought ahead to contact the police and drive to a safe location. I think I would have floored it and hoped for the best!!!!!!!

i feel the same way Dustin, at times i wish i could have a CCW

Tell you what, I ALWAYS carry mine. The ONLY time I dont carry is back and forth to work. Im not 100% sure I could pull the trigger but at least im ready if I absolute need be. Now, more than ever, you have to be ready for things like this. People are starting to get desperate with the economy the way it is and all. Again, glad everything worked out for you Shane. That is about what time I come home from work every night and pretty dang close to the way I go home(Grangeville). I will keep an eye out and we all should keep our heads on a swivel for times like these.

Glad you're ok. Its good to have our cars, we can pretty much outrun most of what the crackhead has to get away. But good reaction.

If anyone ever run into this, run the lights, do whatever to get away safely if you can, even if you have to run away from your car. Car can be replace, you can't. But I do carry my off duty weapon at all time. Too many whackos out there and some actually recognizes me.
