These are the worthwhile shots from my view of Friday night's gathering and debut:

Qualcomm 10 July 2009

My own adventures included at least one of each possible driving error: killed the engine on greenlight, missed second gear, missed third gear (multiple offenses), missed second and third gear, selected first instead of third gear (clutch started to fail on the next run), all that within a total of eighteen runs. Busy night.

I did manage a couple-three good runs, with bests of
.561, 2.446, 78.94, 9.299

For comparison, on the many-splendored night of 19 June 2009, in the black convertible, my bests were
.563, 2.284, 77.99, 9.291

Oddly consistent, car-to-car and week-to-week, no?

High point of the night, aside from seeing y'all and The Race Car in the flesh, was making it all the way up out of Mission Valley on a slipping clutch. Fun, and a little stinky. You suppose Ford will warranty-replace it?

18 runs? Wow.
As for the warranty....well, you need to come up with something believable. Like the clutch just slipped when you took off from the green light (street signal, of course. LOL!). Something to that affect. Good Luck.

They have some sort of spray that they can use that will make the numbers show back up under like a black light condition. I would take them off with some sort of heavy duty cleaner.

Oh yes they will. They try everything they can to put the bill back on the owners. I have dealt with them plenty when I first got my Cobra.

Well, I'm going to wait until Wednesday before I find out. Don't want to show up too close to Friday, eh?

Does the dealer have to read you your rights before you turn your car over to them? I think I'll just say, "Clutch seems to be slipping".

Frank, you'll be alright. You don't look like a racer.

There's a saying we had. "Deny everything, make counter accusation"
Accused them of poor material or workmanship if they try to accuse you of anything. LOL!
