GIRL SCOUT COOKIES that is!
OK here is the deal.....
The cookies are $4.00 per box.
The $4.00 per box is divided up as such:
$2.04 goes to the Girl Scout Council
$.65 - $.80 goes to the Girl Scout Troop
$.85 goes to the Baker
$.19 goes to the cookie program materials, flyers, order forms and such
$.12 goes to the girl incentives
Out of the $.65 - $.80 that the troop gets they send a donation to an organization. The troop my daughter is in has not decided which to send it to, but the ones they are considering are Wounded Warrior Project, USO, VA Hospital, and VA Shelters. As you can see most of those either affect alot of the people on here.
I will have my daughter at the meeting next week. There are some changes this year though. The cookies that are bieng sold this year are:
Thin Mints (No explanation needed on these.)
Tagalongs ( Shortbread cookie with Peanut Butter and coated in Chocolate)(THESE ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THE LATEST SALMONELLA OUTBREAK)
Sugar Free Chocolate Chip (No explanation needed on these.)
Dulce De Leche (Rich with Milk Caramel Chips and Stripes)
Samoas (Vanilla cookie covered with toasted coconut and chocolate stripes)
Do-Si-Dos (Peanut Butter Sandwich Cookie) (THESE ARE NOT AFFECTED BY THE LATEST SALMONELLA OUTBREAK)
Trefoils (Shortbread Cookie)
Lemon Chalet Cremes (Lemon Creme Sandwich Cookie)
If you want to order some, please be aware that March 7th timeframe is the delivery timeframe. You will need to have the money then. If you will not be at the meeting next week and would like to order some, please PM me what you would like along with your first and last name, address, phone number.
If you do not want to buy cookies but want to support Operation Thin Mint, please contact me.
Operation Thin Mint is a program where you buy a box of cookies for the normal price of $4.00 and they send the box to the Forward Deployed Troops. You can choose to send a personal message with your box, and it is tax deductible. You will get a reciept for this one.
