I have a 89 5.0 AOD and I was wondering if I set the timing at 16 BTDC, how much power do I gain? Do I have to run a higher octane after i do this?

I dont know how much power your gonna gain.... But you would probably have to run high octane as the pinging usuall starts at 13-14 degrees... You also are proabably going to loose some of the top end speed as well....

Why 16? It will ping with the wrong gas.

In one of the Mustang Mags they bumped the timing to 16 BTDC and gained 14 HP. Is it worth it? Does it mess up the motor, this is going to be my everyday driver and I don't want to screw it up.
