No chit and I couldn't care less about all the others. If you can't afford the gas, don't buy the car or the mods. Duh!

I have an issue with #2 and I'm not being combative, I just think that it could have been clarified a bit. While oversized wheels MAY contribute to higher gas usage, it might not. It depends. You can have 20" tires that are the same width at the 17s you replaced. And if you did your homework, you probably bought +2, +3 or even +4 sized wheels and tires that nearly or in some cases exactly matched the height or circumference of your original tire.

In these instances, there is NO difference in gas usuage attributed to tires and wheels. If your 20" tire is 26" tall and you 17" tire was 26" tall, what's different?

Right!, the sidewall height.

#2, while POSSIBLY true isn't always so. They didn't specify. A 20" tire that is 26" in height over all and 255mm wide like a 17" tire, 26" tall and 255mm wide has the EXACT same aerodynamic profile. The only other argument that could be proffered here is that of the rotating mass of the larger 20" wheel. Metal always weighs more when it takes the place of an inflated rubber tire.

I agree, I definitely didnt get my car for economical reasons. I just thought the article was kind of funny.

well when i got my car gas wasnt a problem....now im feeling it. 12-15mpg.

I disagree with big air dams and wings looking "cool". As far as the rest, who cares? If you were that concerned over mileage go get a metro or prius.

I think by the tire rim sizes they think the bigger steel/chrome/aluminum rims will weigh more than the facory ones which may or may not be tru in theory. I dont know.

well, i bet chrome 20's do weigh more than stock 17's
