Trophies? Rings? here's an idea

Here's an idea,

Would it be possible to get new type of prize for our larger event(s)?

I saw a ring in the January 2010 issue of 5.0 Mustang magazine, page 112


I thought it would be a great idea for a 1st place winner to sport one of those. If this is possible, we can discuss what type of class or event this prize would be for. Does anyone know of any jewelers that create one inexpensively? Possibly silver, with simulated stones? Who knows???? This is just a thought in it's infancy. Maybe if it's inexpensive enough it can be passed down from current 1st place winner to the new 1st place winner.

Let me add a little note here.....


I'm not opposed to sponsoring it myself and writing it off as a business expense. I would just ask that my real estate stuff be put out there for exposure

My best friend's dad own a jewelry store in El Cajon and he does custom work. I can ask him what something like that would cost and does it matter what kind of stone on top? And is that the design or that style as you have posted?

I would think the open comp class at MVTW seems like the only idea I could come up with. Though I'd like it to be won by a WS member. Maybe the WS member that gets the farthest in the open comp at the MVTW.

It would be cool if we could get one for each class instead of a first place trophy.

One of the deals with rings is that they will have to be sized. I think that the Open Comp Champion and the quick 8 Champion would be good choices for the rings. We give them a trophy and a ring to display. If they show it off, it will add interest to the next event!!!

well I am gonna put my 2 cents in on this one. As far as mustang vs the world rings I think that it would be too much of a hassle. If we wanted to do a ring I think it would be much more suitable for our " king of the track" that way it stays in the club and the only thing we would have worry about would be getting it resized. so it would be a one time buy for the ring. what do you think.

The rings don't need to be sized if it stays in the club.

1. You could just have a say....a prepaid gift certificate to be redeemed at a later date.

OR........

2. to the winners you could have the ring sized and created to present in a later ceremony, that way you already have the size)s.

I'm sure there are many more options that could be discussed, this is only what I could think of in trying to warm up after The McDini's Incident.

oh and another idea.....someone could design a patch for the shirt, kinda like medals for the military, or the scouts. But it could be worn proud on the club shirt!

Rings would be cool. If they are not that much everyone should get one even if they pay some themselves.....
