Rick and I have both joined as members of the SC chapter because we each have a wicked stang..we tell all our customers about the wicked stangs SC chapter..

posting in regional forums has always been a gray area...if my post has broken forum rules then remove it..but I would appreciate clarification on what the members of a local chapter forum are allowed to discuss and what they are not..

Im sorry but I dont see any difference there..it is still a link to a vendor

I guess what you are saying to me is that I cant be a member and a vendor at the same time..it is ok for other members to talk about my shop or functions going on there but not me even though I am a member..

Linn,

Please contact Wickedstangs for clarification. I was just sending information to you that I can find. Wickedstangs is the administrator so he can answer your questions more clearly. But as far as I understand it, is any link to an unauthorized vendor will be removed.

I am aware of that.. that I why I posted under his post in the thread...he didnt remove my thread ..that is why I asked for clarification from him..

I am open to dialog but I think that if you are going to have seperate state chapters that peopel pay to belong to then what goes on in each state forum needs to be better defined..are we joining wickedstangs national or state?

Scratching my head, who is paying to belong to different Chapters?

This Club is free to join, donations are optional to gain access to more forum features.

There is different state chapters, but no one pays to join. Its a free site. However, all chapters falls under one online site here. The only thing is asked of the members is for donation to keep the site up, but is not a requirement to join. The only thing that requires payment is for advertising.

The confusion in your case is that you are a member and a vendor and the event is held at your business and your were letting people know the cost. That is fine, but the concern was that to some vendors, that is seen as free advertisement. We have already deleted a few post where new members come on and post links to their business recently. We just want to make sure it is fair to those vendors that paid to have their business advertise here. As they are helping to keep the site up.

We have a few member/vendor on here, Bangastang and ModularMuscle, for example, the difference is they paid for their advertisement and we have links to their business. We don't mind you having telling people about your business and advertise it on here. However, we ask that you abide by the advertiser guideline so that it is fair to the other vendors.

We are not trying to make it difficult or anything. Just wants to do what is fair.

Yes, you can be both a member and a vendor, but being a member does not automatically "allow" free advertisement on the national website. For any specific club event, no problem posting the event info on the website, but please leave out any specifics regarding services or costs. It would not be fair for those companies who pay us for that privledge, and that money is used to support this site. Also, it is left up to each individual state chapter to define any membership fees to maintain that chapter; it does cost $$ to maintain club events, and if there isn't enough support through donations, a chapter may opt to impose a small fee.
