You know, between you and Phil, those of us who have never been down a track (except on motorcycles 25+ years ago) are getting a real education.

Obviously, none of this can substitute for experience, but at least we can get a grasp understanding the theory and principles.

It kind of confirms the fact that you don't know anything until you actually run your car down a track.

True Dat! One may understand the theory of flight, aerodynamics, lift, glide, etc, but until you actually fly, it doesn't mean much!

My beliefs has always been, read what you can to gain the knowledge, but its not until you take what you read and apply it in real life, you don't know crap.

I agree, the info gives me an understanding but I won't know crap until I take my first run down the track.

Its worth having a little knowledge though to apply to the subject when you get there though. If not you just have to ask other racers and pay close attention ect.
