Nice! Thanks for everything Eric. Really appreciate all the help with the car. Appreciate the pictures as well. Glad she made it there in one piece accross country. Cant wait to see her for the first time and install the new rims and tires!
Well we are still heading north up the west coast and have two more ports before we hit San Diego. This trip is dragging but it has been very interesting to say the least. We have our own satalite now so River City is over for now. It's much faster now than it has ever been as well. I even managed to upload one pic to photobucket to share. The other day our sister ship got to have a holiday routine on Sunday which is something we dont do. We just work..and work 7 days a week underway and till noon in all the ports we hit. But here is a pic they took when fishing off the back of the ship. They said it was a great meal! -Shane

OMG...Mexico where I am at is freaking insain! I swear I think you would get a ticket if you didn't drink and drive! People were crammed into cars trucks, mopeds, 4 wheelers and cruising around in a Siesta Frienzy! I guess because it's the last weekend of spring break, good friday and Easter weekend. People just walking everywhere drinking BEER and so much of it. I saw so many killer Stangs as well and some other very killer cars. Best car was a new Z06 Vette so no exotics or anything. Mostly killer Ford trucks but I just love them so a little biased. Anyhow....5 more days till San Dog! -Shane

39 days later and we are in port! So happy to be here and glad this trip is over! The last 3 days have been horrible for our little ship and was beating the ship down as well as us. We are "parked" next to the huge white medical ship. Even had a good female friend of mine Jenna Smith come and see me who is Navy here somewhere. Cant wait to get settled somewhat and meet some of you in person. -Shane

Shane, Welcome to San Diego. If you don't have any plans, we got the cruise up to Knott's on Sunday for the the Fabulous Ford show. If you can't drive, you can always hitch a ride with one of us.

Really appreciate the offer! I might take someone up on it but I promised my friend I would look for houses and apartments tomorrow. Not sure if he will be able to get his car out today though. Still need to find a nice house myself. -Shane

I mentioned it earlier, but that was early in his transit. But I think he's concern about the distance to Pt Loma, I think that's where his ship will be stationed. But Shane, if you don't mind the drive, its a good spot, plus a 2 car garage, can't beat that.

HMMM, if he is next to a big white ship, that is the Mercy and that's at 32nd St.
I forgot he mentioned PT Loma, not a bad drive if you know the way around the traffic.

Hey guys...yes this is only temp until Pt. Leoma is ready for us. There are 8 of us altogether and our head quarters is gonna be at Pt Leoma. Yes the Mercy is very very close to us rite now. We are on the wall not a pier at the moment. Of course I pull in and have duty! If there is a car open for a fellow stanger I would love to make the car show on Sunday! Even without my Stangs there isnt any thing I would enjoy more. Let me know is someone would like some company and could possible pick my up at the ship. Thanks for that for sure. Time for watch..gotta love OOD.-Shane

Shane, I can't get on base. But I have no problem taking on a passenger. Some of us are planning to go to Medieval Times for dinner after the show. If you want to join us, that would be cool, if not, there should be some people that will be coming back down to San Diego right after.

Where he is at it is only a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Main Gate. 20 minutes if you are walking round trip one way!! LOL
