finishing the job on wed if anyone wants to help

yup, finishing up the passenger side tomorrow, though we won't know how it'll run cause the firewall adjuster and new spark plug were ordered yesterday. the car will start (always a good sign), but clutch cable is a bit loose.

tasks for wednesday:

1. get brake fluid (need to bleed the brakes)

2. get new tires

3. install valve cover gaskets on passenger side

should be a fun filled day of "that's what she said", cursing at the pita, and shane looking for my clutch cable again. :)

wow... 3 day job.. isnt that how long it took to install joes whipple....

why is the cable loose... did he install a qaudrant or an adjustable cable? If he did a adjustable cable i hope he bought a quick relase qandrant or that cable was a waste of money...

we worked on it yesterday, didn't touch it today as shane had work (he used his mom's diesel), and finishing up with the passenger side tomorrow.

i think it is an adjustable cable, but i'll let shane explain the problems there when he gets online.

like i said, his mach runs now (still a miss cause of one bad plug, which he ordered a replacement for).

Andy I installed a quick release steeda quadrant (not double hook) and an adjustable cable, but the cable ran out of adjustment so the firewall adjuster is on the way for extra adjustment. And yes we are doing the passenger side today any help would be appreciated, but call before coming over, I gotta run to Clovis first, which reminds me.... JAY WHERE ARE YOU?!?!?!

i know i just called you to explain why i'm not there, but i want people who read this thread to know i didn't leave you hanging. i text you last night that i'd have to do work around the house (yardwork... yay!), but it didn't send. just took a break to get a drink and saw a crapload of missed calls and stuff.

call me when you get back from clovis though. i should be done by then and able to come over and help with the passenger side.

should have talked tome before ordering... with a quick release qaudrant you always need an adjustable cable and firewall adjuster... turn the firewall adjuster all the way in.. tighten the cable till its snug... then tighten firewall adjuster till you can pull on the cable and have a gap about the thickness of a quarter..

Replaced the coils and plugs first, the replaces the valve cover gasket and the plug in the bad cylinder.... The problem is internal, probably
bad rings letting oil in the combustion chamber
