Ok so I was on my way home Saturday and my car started to sputter and lose power. I was able to maintain a speed of 70mph. If I hiot the throttleat all it sputtered alot then lost all power. So I was doing fine driving the car until I hit a hill where I lost all speed going up it and couldnt get going back up to speed as i couldnt give it gas without the car sputtering and losing power. I pulled over while talking to Jim and we were trying to look and see if a vaccuum line came undone and everything looked great so we thought might be a coil or even the fuel system.
So I got back in the car and revved it up a few times and the check engine light popped on. So I was able to put to the off ramp about a mile up the road. I was driving it and it seemed fine for a tiny bit then it started to act up again, so i went to turn off the road and call a tow truck when the car stalled on me.
After starting it back up the car acted fine. thats when i decided to drive it home and if it acts up turn the car off and back on for it to drive normal.
I stopped at autozone and had them runan OBDII scan and found out the problem was the Fuel Rail Regulator Sensor was Malfunctioning. That only happens when the fuel pressure drops below 30psi.
So it said the fix was replacing either or both
Fuel rail pressure sensor
or/and
Fuel Filter
so now I have a fuel filter to change and if that doesnt work i have to buy a sensor.
Fun stuff guys I also read up on it and found out if that happens to you do not and i repeat do not drive it home.
To it
when the fuel pressure drops below 30psi it is very dangerous to drive the car anywhere. As Major damage can occur to the engine.
