it will take years to pull the manpower and supplies we put into that country out. and then we will jsut go somewhere else. my squadron deployes every year no matter what. war or not. we will just find someone else to go bother.

An old boss of mine from a few years ago is a Major in the Guard with the 1138th Engineer Battalion out of Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He's told me that too. My oldest daughter's boyfriend served a tour over there as well. I think they may both be deployed again this year. I heard on NPR radio the other night on the way home that the 1138th lost a Specialist in Iraq last week or so. It's hard to throw a dart and not have it land near someone who has either been there or someone who has been affected by someone there.

Just wishful thinking about getting them out, I guess.

very true, when i was there with the fighting 13th for the "surge" we lost a few from the ground side, but for the most part it has really calmed down over there
