I'm going to rebuild my T5 and build it to handle 650 hp/525 lb-ft..

if this happens I will be doing a write up on it cost me right around 1100 bucks

I need to find out if mine is even rebuildable.. the last time i drove it it made a loud BANG... then leaked trans fuild really bad.. and sounded like ether the pressure plate broke and/or the throwout bearing exploded LOL... :argh:

andy not to hijack your thread, but how hard would it be to swap out the 5th gears in my 2 TR3650s?

Last time I had a loud bang out of a T-5, about ten years ago, it was the front bearing that gave up. Did not damage the casing and I sold it for $200. The guy rebuilt the transmission and took it to the track often. Casing is strong on the T-5, just built a little sloppy.

yea the a-5 kit i want to run comes with case reinforcement... the bad side to the case is its alum. and flex under hard shifts... i'm thinking its the front bearing... it sounds horrible just running at idle...
