yeah, i remember seeing some of those years, i mean after 73( i like to call this the husky times, because the cars just got bigger) didn't like the lines on these cars

I had a friend in Denver who had a 73... man, what a boat anchor that thing was. I think it had a Windsor motor in it, faded lime green with a nasty-assed brown vinyl top, and slower than a seven year itch. I used to kick his ass with my small block Ford van... LOL

ROFL!

I guess I did, huh? Did I also forget to mention it had a small block C6, a 31 spline nine inch and could pull the Cyclone over the continental divide at 60 mph while Trans Ams were choking to death?? I love my Fords... LOL

400hp ford van huh?... reminds me of something i say in hawaii racing on the track there while it was still open. how about a well modded astro van with many engine mods and twin turbos? ran low 12's in the quarter.

to get back on topic, i think these were the ugliest mustangs made followed by the SN95's, but that is just my opinion.

I got one of these as my first car. 4 cyl. faded red with the white vinyl crap top and a sunroof. It was a 4 speed manual. all the journals were different sizes. So we just bought a bunch of bearings and pulled the motor everytime they wore out. Got it down to about 5 hours to pull the motor, fix, and reinstall. My dads shop was pretty well setup though as he was a mechanic. The car cost me $100 not bad for a 16 year old with no job.

I had a black and gold '78 T-topped Cobra II in '79 and '80 with a small block and a 4-speed. It was a pig and the T-tops leaked like hell when it rained. I sold it for 3k more than I paid for it, though... not a bad ROI, I think.
