West 78 Shootout Aftermath

So the event went pretty smoothly. I believe that in all, 42 Mustangs showed up. Good showing mustang community! I wanted to thank your club for coming out and keeping it clean. Your club is truly a respectable bunch.

I'm sorry if I didn't get around to everyone to chat a bit but I was all over the place. The amount of time and effort it takes to make sure everything goes well is enormous. What made it allot harder was the PA system going berserk just before the show started. So my apologies.

All in all it was fun and I hope your club enjoyed it. I hope a few of you guys were able to get on the dyno and participate in the shootout and I want to make sure that you guys (and gals) got some of that good BBQ as well.

Let me know your thoughts. This will become an annual event and next year will be even better.

(burnout contest anyone?)

only 2 stangs on the dyno??? a burn out contest would be awesome! food was great! i didnt see the all girl car wash though, where was that?

That was a great event. We had a great time and will definitely come back again.

There was one issue with the dyno, a few of our Mustang guys were turned away and only two got on and that was at the very end. There appears to be some empty slot in some categories that our Mustang could have competed in but were not allow. That is the only issue.

But we had fun and the BBQ was top notch. Thanks for the invite, can't wait for next year's event!

I remember hearing about this just before the event ended. I am still trying to find out why the mustangs only ran 2 cars. I know that the majority of mustangs where automatically excluded from two of the classes (6.0 N/A and 6.0 F/I) But that still left three classes in which they should of competed (anything goes class, 5.9 N/A and 5.9 F/I). I wanted at least one of each make and model in the classes. For next year, I will make sure the mustangs get their own class to compete in.

Believe me, it does make me a little upset when there is favoritism going on. I set up this event for ALL TYPES OF AMERICAN CARS and will do a better job next time of locking this down for you guys.

its ok bro next time ill just bring my gun and make sure the mustangs get something jk lololol great event nonetheless and learning experience
