Good call on the tranny oil cooler, forgot all about it.
Here is my "front mount"(lol) tranny cooler that I installed on my GT-Shane

gears should be top on the list and with an AOD and a heavy vert definitely go 4.10's, get a good shift kit, no b&m junk get a bauhman or transgo, then put a good trans cooler on it, you OD will be fine just keep away from shifting into OD under full throttle and it should be fine, oh and to much of the 1D1 shuffle is hard on them also.
If you plan to keep the AOD and not go 5spd then a decent converter is money well spent, at this point traction is going to start being an issue so i would look into some suspension and stickier tires, some decent upper and lower rear control arms, subframe connectors and plate the torque boxes while your there.
power wise there are MANY options with the 302, alot depends on what you want to spend and what you want out of it, start with the usual bolt on's, exhaust, 65-70mm tb, little bigger mass, you wont see to much from pulleys and i would suggest you dont use the alternator pulley at all, an explorer intake is a good cheap intake, its pretty close to a gt40 and a fairly easy swap and can be had for $100-$150 range. they also have 65mm tb on them and its not to hard to make them work on a fox.
then comes heads, cam, etc etc but we can get into that later its been a long day of trick or treating with the kids lol.
like i said 4.56 FTMFW
Aren't you the one that told me just to get a Terminator? I wish it was that easy!!
Even if I hit 2800 @ 70 i don't mind because it isn't my everyday driver.
well you did say "what mod i should get". the best bang for the buck = termy. i was just throwin it out there. but if you want a more suttle route thats fine with me.. 4.56 with a T56 6 speed. now that would be awesome.
i beg to differ the best bang for the buck would be a fox hands down, just the money you would spend on a STOCK cobra, a person could build two nasty foxbody's lol.
prove it i paid 20000
prove it i paid 20000
here is one already built, 1993 cobra, made 715/744 on 12psi and went 10.0 full street trim at 3600lbs, $13,000 turn key. with $7000 left to drop .1:rock:
