Why do people do this?!

On my way home I saw an S197 GT, and when i passed him he had a Cobra emblem in the grill!!!!

Like really? He had gauges on the pillar so I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt... But why have 2 different trim badges? So tacky!!!

I have SHELBY badges on my car and its a GT500? And Cobra Emblems? not sure what it is now....... Terminators don't want to play and Shelby plant cars don't want to hear of us...:croc:

Funny you should bring this up. I was thinking just the same thing last weekend as I was out at the Team Shelby website. We have been banished from their minds at Shelby. Terminator will play, but they don't consider us a Cobra.

I don't get why Ford did Cobra emblems either, because no where does it actually say it is a Cobra on my GT500.

I also noticed "SVT" in a couple spots, but in reality, it is not because SVT was desolved a couple years ago officially.

To the OP, I think that GT figures he can get away with it because of all I mentioned above. Our GT500's are not Cobra's and yet have that badge, so why not him??

I have seen many more Saleen copies then I do Cobra's. And a few Roush's. I don't see the harm in it. As long as they have the power to back it up.

I say to each their own. It used to furiate me but not so much any more. Some people just can not afford a Cobra, Gt500, Saleen, or Roush so they make them look like them. Really dont see the harm in it any more.

I see that a LOT! Believe it or not! Know what I saw couple of days ago? A V6 with one of those kit converters to make it look like a V8...The popes thingie.

Laughed so hard I thought I'd run into him. I came up on him in the lane next to me. I mean, it's not bad or anything but it is kinda like fake boobs. Everyone knows except the chick who thinks no one knows. LOL

P.S. My eye colour is for real blood red. I wear blue contacts. No harm done. No one gets hurt. Get to scare people on Halloween! NEATO!

To clone or not to clone!

I have an 08 GT-CS, it came with the same front and rear fascia's that come on the Shelby GT.... Part of the reason I bought the car (Dealer told me "Sorry, all the Shelby GTC's are sold or spoken for , but we have this!")

Anyway, I lowered it with FR springs and bought the tires and wheels that came off a GT500 and I still want to put the SuperSnake stripes on.... why? Because I can't afford a SS but I love the look and I'm the one it matters too!
Also, anyone that is driving a (before mentioned cars), it's a compliment to your car and it's not done in a negative way.

The power is not there (yet), but I don't talk like it is either!

I have seen a couple of fake BULLITTS around, I just laugh and go about my business

To quote Carroll Shelby: " Cobra, its DNA is in everything we build." GT 500's are endorsed by Shelby, Shelby GTs are assembled by Shelby... So snakes are totally appropriate on those cars. SVT has always used the Cobra name and badging, so it is appropriate on those cars...
Using the Cobra badge on anything else is just posing... Nothin wrong with having a GT, nothing wrong with having a V6, but they are what they are... Why try to act like they are anything but what they are? A Mustang is a Mustang they are all great cars.

I honestly don't see anything thing wrong with putting badges off another stang. If it's from some ricer car like the lame GTR badge or DUB badge and crap like that then yes that is a BIG NO NO because now it isn't even a stang any more. But Cobra, GT, GT/CS, Bullitt, Saleen, Roush, etc.... are all stang related so I say let them badge it up but also don't make it a mutt where you have Saleen, Cobra, GT all on one car....lol. Choose which stang you want to clone and do it. Plain and simple. But if you are going to do it do the best possible not to make it show what it really is.
