Wicked Stangs Calendar?

I know someone that can do this who is located in Long Beach. Here is a link to his pbase gallery - http://www.pbase.com/digitalcmh And he has these questions:

Do you want 12 unique photos? different girl for each photo? cars? and what's the distribution for the calendar? is this just for the club or something you guys would try to sell and make money? are you looking for what it would cost for me to do the photography only? or also come up with a package to have everything designed and printed? what kind of print quality do you want. etc. And when it comes to girls, do you have the girls or d you need me to do a casting? I'd need to know a lot of that info before I could commit to any kind of pricing.

I can pretty much guarantee you that he will charge us MORE for simple photography that the race car, trailer and engine cost.

Good luck raising money for that!

Gibs, Emilio and a few others have high megapixel cameras and do pretty well taking pics when they're sober. LOL

Obviously this guy has talent and with that comes his enormous fees, I'm sure. I'd be willing to bet that after paying him AND these hookers...er...I mean "supermodels" from Rosecrans, we'd have to sell the calendars for $50 a pop.

Let's do this "in house", at least the photography part. If we can't find "models" to go with the cars, shoot the cars alone! Trust me, you lose a little "wow factor" but a lot less hormonal bitching, whining and arguing.

There are a gazillion places that will print you calendars with your photos. People do this every day. They send in 12 pics of their kids, their dogs, their horses and even those pesky freaking oversized rodents they call cats.

Try these for example:

Yup, this is a no-brainer that we have the talent to do in-house and inexpensively.

The grass area where mustang by the bay was held would be a good spot. The Coronado bridge or the Convention Center as the background. But I think need permission to get into there.

There a literally hundreds of great places. Those are good ideas. Also, consider Balboa Park, Mission Bay, Coronado....we could make a day of it.

Shoot at one location, zip to the next, take some shots, move to the next....Doesn't all have to be done in the same day, maybe two weekends.

Maybe a small planning committee can undertake this.

1. Choose the featured cars by poll or vote
2. Scout out and pick/vote on locations
3. Schedule those picked to be at chosen locations to be photographed.
4. Go through all final photos and pick which pic for which month
5. Arrange for which printer to produce calendars
6. Set prices for sale and promote them.
