WickedStangs 1st Annual Toys for Military Children Cruise

This is your opportunity to make the day of a deserving military child.

Date: 15 November 2008
Meet and Greet: Target in Mission Valley
Meet Time: 9:45 am
Pictures at 10:30 am
Roll Out: 10:45 am

Please bring a new, unwrapped toy for a child ages 1-10 years old. Please keep the toys between 10 and 15 dollars. Target, Toys R Us, Navy Exchange, K-Mart and WalMart are great places to get toys at a low cost.

We will distribute all toys collected among the cars and depart for the Ramona VFW at 10:45 am

If you cannot make the cruise, please meet us between 10 and 10:30 am to drop off a toy.

This will be a leisure cruise to Ramona to meet the members of the VFW and drop off the toys.

Please RSVP on the Calendar by the 11th of November so we can reserve enough parking spaces.

This event can really shed a good light on Wicked Stangs Mustang Club through the region. It will show we are not just "Dumb Motorheads". As most of us on here are military families, we know the tough times that some of these kids are going through or have gone through. Most of us have one of these deserving kids parents working with us or for us. This will really help the VFW in providing enough toys to these kids to make a difference.

As was stated above, this will be a Meet, distribute the toys and then a cruise up to the VFW Post 3783 at 2247 Kelly St., Ramona, CA 92065.

I have been in contact with Katie Budzenski, Auxiliary President of the Post and she was STOKED I even asked if we could Adopt the Post for a Toy Run. I didn't mention Wicked Stangs in our conversation, only that I belonged to a local Mustang Club.

I am hoping for a minimum of 5 cars, if we can get 10 cars or more I feel it would blow their minds!

Rain or shine, the His and Hers are going, so we are at 2 already. Please RSVP in the link in the original post.

Update:

I just found out that the Post is located on about 500 feet of dirt road, the parking lot is paved with approximately 10-15 spots which the VFW has graciously allowed all of them to us if needed on the 15th.

The Auxillary President sent me this after I told her that the Club is Wicked Stangs:

Boy, I sure hope this isn't a problem for you. I forwarded the article from the
calendar of events on your website, to some post members, next thing I know it
has been forwarded to the local paper. Taking on a life of it's own as the
Commander put it. Let me know if there are any issues.

I will be at Target a little early to try and lock us enough room for a photo op. One of the members from the VFW may be driving down to get pictures and cruise up with us. I am waiting to hear back from him.

She might need my help getting ready... If she gives me the thumbs up I will be there.

There is no time schedule once we get there. I would like to get to the VFW and deliver the Toys inside unless they would like a photo op outside once we get there.
