12th Annual Encinitas Classic Car Nights

I pulled this article from the North County Times. I think a few of us did this last year. Just was curious to see if anyone is interested going up to Encinitas on the third Thursday of the month? Here is the article.

It's time for cool cats and hip chicks to rev up their engines and head down to the 12th annual Encinitas Classic Car Nights.

The "souped up" event kicks off Thursday from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in downtown Encinitas, between D Street and K Street, and will continue every third Thursday through September.

Part of F Street will also be closed to accommodate more cars and car clubs, said Dody Crawford, executive director of the Downtown Encinitas MainStreet Association.

"It's going to be a lot bigger this year," she said about the monthly show.

In years past, the event has been great for businesses in the downtown area, Crawford said.

"The car show brings a lot of business to restaurants and livens up downtown," she added.

The June 17 show will feature antique motorcycles, including one that is 110 years old, in original condition and still functional. Vintage restored motorcycles will also be shown.

This antique motorcycle display will be at Charlie’s Foreign Car lot, 710 S. Coast Highway.

Live music will be performed by The Retro Rocketts, a group based in the San Diego area that plays songs from the Beatles, Eagles and more. They will perform at the Smog Test Only Center, 682 S. Coast Highway.

"Best of" awards will be given by the sponsor, Pacific Station Project in downtown Encinitas.

The September show will feature Woodies.

The shows draw classic cars from all over the United States, Crawford said.

Each event is open to the public and free for viewers and participants wanting to show their classic cars.

Parking is limited, so organizers suggest spectators arrive early and grab a bite to eat or browse in one of the more than 200 shops in the downtown area.

We did do this last year. It was good. We went there on Mustang night and had parking at a reserved spot, otherwise would have been impossible.
