Well, it's been 8 years since I was forced to sell my race car. A lot has changed since then. Long story short I purchased Ethan's then Emilio's, then Daryl's and then Ethan's again old car for my son Bobby who is almost 15. This car is like a cheap whore lol.

IMG_4062.JPG

Anyway, I bought the car from Ethan with the intention to build the car with Bobby and teach him the little that I know along the way. The car had a 347 with a broken crankshaft, but Ethan threw a spare 302 engine in the deal. I had the car towed to my house and immediately started to tear it down. The day after the car got here I tore down both engines and took the good one to the machine shop. We are building a 10:1 327 (331 with standard bore). I'll post pics when I get it back and start assembly.

I ripped out all of the interior that is in need of an overhaul and vacuumed up about a years worth of cigarette butts that were in the car. At least whoever did that wasn't polluting and throwing them out the window lol.

I started digging into all of the wiring as well and there is a ton of stuff that just had wires twisted together and then taped. I immediately started pulling all of that out and cleaning up all the wiring throughout the entire car.

We also pulled all of the engine bay wiring and accessories off and power washed the engine bay. We taped everything off and scuff sanded the engine bay to prep for paint. I didn't want to spend a grip on professionally having it painted, so we spatter painted it Black/Gray. It doesn't look spectacular, but it's a little better than it was.

We bought a new stereo with blue tooth and all new dash and door speakers. I put power to the radio using some wires jumped to the battery and it actually sounds pretty damn good!

I Tons of packages showing up throughout the week. I also ordered a custom cam and valve spring package from Flow Tech Induction today. I'm super excited about building this car with my son.

Well that's about it for now. Stay tuned.........

Oh yeah, we will be converting to five lug and installing disc brakes on the rear. We went to the junkyard 2 weeks ago and pulled brakes from a 98 V6. I ordered an SN95 booster and master cylinder today.

Thanks Ethan. It should be pretty sweet when it’s done.

Well I've been working on the car pretty heavy, but to the untrained eye (Emilio lol) it probably doesn't look like much is getting done. Since I'm restoring this car and my 66 coupe, I decided it was time to plumb my garage the right way and finally get a sand blaster. It took two days, but I got it all done and it is working pretty good.

Yesterday the SN95 brake booster and master cylinder came in. I got the larger brake booster in after elongating the holes and beating the shock tower a little bit. It was a pain in the ass, but once it's done it's done. I bench bled the master cylinder and installed the conversion line and proportioning valve plug. I'm currently waiting on the Ford Racing proportioning valve.

Well, I’m not sure if anyone is actually looking at this thread, but I’ll keep posting anyway just in case. Facebook is for women and children we need to bring back the forums! Lol

Anyway, I’ve been doing a lot of busy work, but not a whole lot worthy of pictures. I did get the ignition completely wired up and bought an Optima battery and mounted in the trunk. I purchased the summit racing sealed battery box and I would never buy one again. Too many modifications had to be made. The hold down clamp doesn’t even work.

I bought some 1/0 welding cable and ran the power wire from battery to starter relay. I also made the ground cable and mounted it to where the quad shock used to be. I believe those were still on the car lol)

I couldn’t post any pics because it said they are too large for Emilio’s server. :meh:

I have fixed a lot of wiring on this car. I’m not sure if things were working or intermittent, but man there was a lot of wires falling apart inside their connectors.

Someone butchered the center console and the junkyards are empty, so I had to work with it. I repainted all of the interior parts. Put in the new black front seat belts that Ethan gave me with the car.

It’s starting to look like a new car inside.

Tried to upload two other pictures, but it wouldn’t do it. Site said they are too large. Even though they are the same as all the others I’ve posted.

Been working hard on the car every chance I get. Picked up the engine the other day and started working on it. Had the heads converted to stud mount rockers. Still waiting on the custom cam though.
