Well, after wanting to keep my 93 all original, I bought a replacement radio. Actually I bought two. A cassette player somewhat identical to the original except that the seller installed an AUX input on the face to be able to listen to mp3 players.
I also picked up a year correct CD Player that was actually an option on these Cobras. Hopefully either of these will solve my radio problem.
The problem was that the sound would cut out unless I raised the volume way past 3/4 of the way, but then it would be too loud. What I feel good about is that either of these replacements would be an OEM radio so I can keep it original.
