Wicked Stangs Calendar

For all members who are unaware, the Wicked Stangs San Diego Chapter is in the process of creating a calendar. Myself and Jason (Reaper52) have been appointed as the committee tasked with organizing the entire calendar including locations and times. Jason presented the locations we came up with at the May Monthly meeting. Here is a general breakdown of the presentation.

Per the discussion that occurred at the May monthly meeting are the locations that all members in attendance showed the most interest in (listed below). We would still like to have the calendar feature at least one car from each of the following time frames: 1978-1992, 1993-1998, 1999-2004, 2005-2009, 2010-2015. We are open to new ideas and would like input on any locations that come to mind. We will be conducting cruises that will hit 2-3 of these locations at once and tentative routes can be discussed later.

For members not in attendance we were able to get permission to take photos with a P-51D Mustang (which is the namesake of the Ford Mustang) from Chuck Hall Aviation in Ramona. However only 6 cars can be featured with the aircraft. The original idea was to have 1 Mustang from each time frame listed above be featured in the photo however, the idea was purposed to have 2 Red, 2 White and 2 Blue Mustangs featured in the photo for a more patriotic look. We however will be on short notice for the photo as the aircraft's owner Mr. Chuck Hall doesn't live out here. As the committee for this calendar we believe it is more logical and fair to feature Mustangs of all years and all colors with the aircraft to show the diversity of Wicked Stangs. The idea was brought up of possibly leaving it to the first 6 members that are available for the photo shoot when the date is announced. Once again we are open to suggestions on this matter as well. We will post more details as they come. Any input is greatly appreciated!

We'll be looking for all the years and body styles. The idea to get every car in the San Diego Chapter into the calendar for the year group. Just joint the cruises, get in the pictures and end up in our calendar. HOPE TO SEE EVERYONE!!!

In regards to centennial park, if members are down to go after hours (0000-0200) you can achieve a shot with the cars parked by the ferry landings/boardwalk just inches from the water with the skyline in the background.

I took this last month:

Also for Petco Park you can consider doing rolling shots to capture both Petco and downtown all in 1.

If you need me to take any pictures, especially the ones out on the west side of San Diego (otay lakes, etc) let me know and I can try to help.

Just my .02

Awesome! Did you mean midnight 0000 - 0800??? And we would love to have you as one of the photographers.

How about Tidelands Park in Coronado? The backdrop would be the Coronado Bay Bridge and a little bit of the downtown skyline. Pictures would have to be taken in the early morning as this is a very popular park on the weekends or you can take them at night where the bridge would be lighted and you can view the downtown skyline under the lights.

@Ferocious - Would you consider doing some rolling shots of a few mustangs at once (possibly from some back/side views) on the Petco run obviously with someone with you to drive? Also, what road were you on to get that shot?
