I'm looking at your a-arms and am wondering if your stock one's will fit my car? I know your's have the correct balljoint for my spindles as I no longer have fox spindles but are they the right width for a fox? Your a-arms are built so that there shouldn't be any clearance issues between the wheels and a-arms which I have a problem with. If they fit do you want me to take them off your hands?

Why are you having issues? When you switch to the sn95 spindles you are supposed to use spacers to compensate for the ball joint issue. It could be as simple as a stack of washers. I think I have 2 aluminum pieces that are machined for this lying around here somewhere.

I have the correct balljoints in my a arms but when turning the inside edge on the wheel, where wheel weights would go, rubs the control arm. Weird huh? I've never heard of anybody else having this problem, but both wheels have been shaved down a little due to rubbing the a arms.

Notch the a-arms where they are rubbing. As long as it's not a structural piece it will be fine. No need to swap arms and waste money on an alignment.

How much can I cut away? I'm basically going to cut the vertical side of the a arm off and will probably need to go pretty close to the spring pocket. The end result would be similar to how 02's stock arms look. Maybe at the hobby shop I could weld it back up but I still need a piece of steel to use. I could just cut it so that I can reuse part of what I cut off. I can't notch it as much as I need without cutting the vertical part off which will have an effect on the strength of the arm.

If its barely rubbing I don't understand why you have to cut that much off. Maybe you should start a thread cuz we just hi-jacked Eric's, lol.

Today I finished Eric's car. I went to NAPA this morning and bought the bolts for his steering rack. The kit didn't have them and the stockers were too long.

Then I installed the bump steer kit.

After that I put the front wheels back on and noticed that the front wheels were rubbing the coil overs. I had to max out the negative camber to get the coil over as far away from the struts as I could, but you would be lucky to fit a few sheets of paper in between. May need some wheel spacers.

I also Swapped out Eric's Rear lower control arms with some UPR solid adjustables. I started a thread about drag racing and rubber bushings a while ago, but didn't have the pics. Well Here they are!!!!!!!!!!

Right Rear Control Arm.

There was so much movement going on because of these wasted bushings that these bolts were actually bent!!! Hard to tell in the pic, but trust me it was BENT!

Another trip to NAPA for some grade 8 hardware

Out with the old in with the new! These relieved a ton of stress on the torque boxes with the spherical bushings. The old ones had to be pryed into position. These were a piece of cake. :)

These new control arms were 3lbs vs the other ones which were 6lbs.

Total weight savings = 62lbs!!!

Welcome to the 7's Eric.

(If not just let me drive it :))

LOL, see you in hell then!

Seriously though, the rear sway bar is probably only 8-10 lbs at the most. 62lbs is a lot of weight especially since the majority came off the front end. The rear control arm alone should give you a huge advantage over your last race.

I would try the reas shocks set at 5 and the front struts set at 3. This car should pic up some good times on the 11th. :)

im gonna need to pull another 1.6 60' to get the car to get close to the 7s but debating whether i should strip the car down or just leave the weight in the back...

=atlblue98gt; I ran that on drs with stock suspension, stock rear end, bald drs at that. Oversized too, LOL

Keep in mind his car is heavier than yours and N20 is hitting harder off of the line. You probably make more TQ than he does? You are running 2-4 mph faster than 02gt. You 2 would make for a good race.

ive got a kmember to install, just need a arms and coil overs. Fix my rear end then see what it does on slicks. I would love to race someone that is dead even with me at the strip. And i have neck problems for my nitrous hitting so hard....... LMAO
