2006 block

hey i was wondering i have been hearing that the block on a 2006 is aluminum is this tru or was that just a special order thing ???

everything im reading says they were all aluminum block and head. to save weight. they weigh 80-100lbs less than a 302/351

Pretty much..... But if I were you, since you rely on your car for transportation look into a crate motor with forged internals already in it. Then you could just transfer your stock heads or purchase some better flowing aftermarket heads. This way you can take your time, build it how you want it and minimize your down time. Heres an example of some crate engines but there are many more to choose from as you know...

good call damn money issue hahaah if that was the fact i woudl jsut go find a wrecked one and pic it up like that why by new wneh u can get a almost new one and then mess with it could i keep it at ur house hahaah

Save til we come off of cruise and buy the short block. Then we will go on surge and you can save for some bad ass heads. And you can store it at my house if you like just get it shipped here.

oh yeah... Extend for cruise...uh, I mean for a stroked 3 valve LOL!! I would have to agree with Beej though. Go for the new motor. You never know what your gonna get from the junk yard and they cant garuntee you that the block is not cracked nor will they have a clue if the car was abused ( besides the telephone pole stamp on the side) :)

before it blew he did get 500+hp to the rear wheels tho. fast as hell. cant wait to see what it will put down when he has it back together.

hahah good call and i asked to extend and was denied so im up **** creek like that u know hahah i guess i could ask again maybe get XO or CO involved see if we cant purswade him hahah

BJ it is back together bro he is driving it around now. You have to ask him about numbers though it is a little lower than before but its completly safe now
