is pulling out the axles and counting the splines the only way to tell or would the axles be marked. this fox i purchased has a lot of mods on it and i am wondering if thats done too. is there any other way to tell?

Control arms helped me out a ton, too... lowering it seems to have done the rest.

If you dont have aftermarket upper and lower control arms, I can almost garuntee nothing is done to the axle... Easy way to find out is jack up the car remove the drive line, Turn the yoke and count how many times the tire turns for every one turn of the yoke, Like if the tire turns 2 3/4 times for one turn of the yoke you probably still have stock 2:73's if it turns 3 1/2 times its a 3.55's pretty easy, But alot of people dont do diffs when they do gears... Find out your gears and let me know... IF you need Gears who cares whats already in it, just spend about a 1500 bucks and build up the rear end with axles, diff, gears intstal kit and Control arms!

what else do you know about it, to tell what is all in it, you need to take the cover off, and try to find some part numbers. the axles my have a sticker on the wheel side but i dont think it will tell you if its 28 or 31.. the easest way is to see if it has the stock diff... Stock diff means 28 spline.

they do have stickers. they say superior axle and gear but no number. so when i get a chance i will pull off the cover to look.

buy some royal purple diff oil at the same time you pull that cover....oh and a diff gasket or RTV!

I think we should get a better fox body picture for this part of the forum....maybe a members ride!

Liston to Machman he knows what he is talking about. I never did wheel hop with my fox. I would go and add new upper and lower control arms. They say turning your quad shocks around help too with fitting larger tires under it.. lower it as well. My 06 hopped its ass off though bad.. I lowered it and hasnt been same since.

oh, well, i looked into those control arms, and i want to get some soon. everything is just happening so fast... i dont have time to really do anything.

yeah....but atleast your not going too far right. you'll still be able to drive all the way down here for events and shit.
