I believe the mission is to control the violence until their government and police forces are sufficient enough to stand on their own against the terrorist regime throughout the region. That will take quite some time though...the american fighting forces along with other select countries are having a difficult time with eliminating them.
I fear that pulling out now would cause them to gain an overwhelming recruiting to their terror ntwork...."They would view as they beat the INFIDEL(MERICAN MILITARY)" If that happens it would take no time to cause another major loss of life in the world....maybe not in America but there would be another one. Then our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines would be doing this all over again. That would even be worse than staying there now.
Just my .02 though I could be wrong it may be over oil.......if so that didnt work so well for us....LOL
It could be about trying to make sure we have enough sand to supply our beaches with so that we can have higher tourism for the US Beach Resorts.....thus raising the income of the US....hmmm that might actually work....LOL Global warming is raising the sea levels and that is causing more erosion of the beaches so this must be the reason........

Bobby, I appreciate you voicing your opinion and you have every right to feel the way you do. You served your country, you're a good father and your good citizen. I appreciate that you are looking forward. For all our sakes, I hope your right.
The election is now a part of our past. I'm a strong conservative and I hoped for a McCain victory. That hope is now gone and the reallity is Barack Obama will become the Commander and Cheif as well as the President of the United States. I can only wait and see where the change leads us over the next four years and hope for the best once again.
Today is the begining to the rest of your life, take advantage and make a positive change. Obama, GW, Clinton, GHW Bush and even Ronald Reagan did not change your life. You did!!!!! Only you can decide your future!!!

I don't like what happened last night. Don't trust Obama and his cronies or terrorist friends. But I'm ready to move on and help make sure this country don't fall too much more to the freeloaders. This is still the greatest country on the planet with the greatest military men and women serving it. Regardless what branch we serve or served, we are on the same side serving the same purpose and that's defending this great nation of our's. We don't do it for recognition and we do it regardless of what the opponent of the military say about us. We are patriots and we will continue to love this country and ensure its future for our children. Like CWO, I'm willing to give this a chance but will be watching closely.

Gentleman, I never said that I was in love with Obama and seriously the only issue for me was bringing the troops home. I understand that some may think its better for the troops to stay in Iraq. Here are a few things that bother me about this Iraq thing. 1.) I know with war comes loss, but while I was in Germany I carried caskets off the tarmac along with visiting Ramstein AirForce base. I went room to room just to visit with soldiers sailors and marines who were wounded in combat. I saw a 17yr old kid who got shot in the back by a sniper. I cried when that young man grabbed my hand as I looked at staples from his pelvis to his throat. He tried to write on a chalk board to say something to me, but it was only scribble. I work with an army cat who now has a metal plate in his head from shrapmetal that was lodged in his skull. My old Captain was blown up by a road side bomb. The latest soldier killed from San Diego that was on the news was a friend of my wife's and the list goes on.
My friends who have been there and actually killed there didn't and do not want to be there. Does that mean they are cowards? hell NO!
2.) Marines and Army are trained to kill from day one. Then when they do it they are put on trial because of our Fu*ked up media coverage. They shouldn't be put in that situation.
I don't know what the answer is, but Mav or Gibs made the comment that things will get worse if we pull out because it will be seen as a victory. I disagree, Don't you think that you would be more pissed off at the fact that someone you hated was sitting in your backyard? Us being there is not preventing any terrorist attacks.
Bottom line is I'm with all of you guys and I would hate to see another man go down. If it was up to me I think I may have dropped the bomb on them mugs and called it a day!
