I haven't got my reply yet as far as the instructions are concern. And I think I'm going to go straight down to the meeting point and skip the cruise given the condition of my car right now.

I don't even know what time we are suppose to be there. I only got the email from Scott saying he got my email and happy to have my car, but nothing further as far as for the time and place to be. But I was thinking get there about an hour before so we can prep our cars, clean it, whatever else. I know I will take longer for me to get there since I'm planning on going to downtown via the city because I don't want to gas it given the car's condition.

ALL,

I'm good with that. Maybe even leave at 9. The question is what time "they" want us down there. Sometimes they want us there even earlier to give us instructions, and line up, and all those logistic things.

Sent to the 2009 San Diego Veterans Day Parade Vehicle Volunteer electronic distribution group.

Greetings to All!

First, I want to thank you all for participating in this year's Parade. As it stands right now, I have 69 requests for a ride in the Parade, and we have 72 available seats in 50 volunteer vehicles!

We will begin registration in the north parking lot of the County Administration Building at 8:00 A.M. Wednesday morning. Please try to arrive before 10:30 A.M., as it gets quite hectic just before the Parade starts.

The Parade route will be on Pacific Coast Highway from Grape Street to Harbor Drive. The southbound lane of Pacific Coast Highway between Grape and Cedar Street will be closed at 8:00 A.M. to allow for staging of the First Parade Division.

From the north, take I-5 south to Pacific Coast Highway, then continue south to Grape Street. Turn right on Grape Street, and then left on Harbor Drive. Go south to Ash Street (just before the Holiday Inn) and turn left on Ash. Make a SAFE U-turn on Ash Street, and then turn right onto Harbor Drive (northbound) to the driveway off the northwest corner of the County Administrative Building (almost right across the street from Anthony's Restaurant). There will be a volunteer standing at the in a red vest to check you in.

From the south, take I-5 north to Hawthorne Street. Take Hawthorne Street down to Harbor Drive, then turn left on Harbor Drive.

There's always room for Jello, as they say, so if you have a friend that would like to volunteer their car for the Parade, bring them along! We will hold volunteer vehicles on the west side of the parking lot and stage on the east side along the building in Order of the Parade.

Don't hesitate to call me should you have any additional questions!

Respectfully,

Scott H. Langhoff

Emilio,
Should we meet at the Bennigans and roll in together? I propose that we meet up at 8:30 to roll out by 9:00... Concur?
Also, military members, do we want to do this in Uniform? I think it would be appropriate... We should decide which uniform i.e. Blues, Black and Tans ?

Active duty... However, all veterans are welcome to wear the uniform if they choose... I am wearing Blues. I think it is the right thing to do on this occassion.
