I agree fighting sailor, shows respect and support. Plus you never know what you'll get if you wear them! Probably a lot of handshakes!

I can meet ya at Bennigans, 8:30? I think earlier is better, never know how many will be there bright and early. I bought some small flags I can pass out. Anyone who wants one, please bring some tape or something to adhere it, maybe to the antennae. Also, if we don't drive in together, they will probably split us up according to arrival, dunno for sure.

Sent to the 2009 San Diego Veterans Day Parade Vehicle Volunteer electronic distribution group.

Greetings to All!

First, I want to thank you all for participating in this year's Parade. As it stands right now, I have 69 requests for a ride in the Parade, and we have 72 available seats in 50 volunteer vehicles!

We will begin registration in the north parking lot of the County Administration Building at 8:00 A.M. Wednesday morning. Please try to arrive before 10:30 A.M., as it gets quite hectic just before the Parade starts.

The Parade route will be on Pacific Coast Highway from Grape Street to Harbor Drive. The southbound lane of Pacific Coast Highway between Grape and Cedar Street will be closed at 8:00 A.M. to allow for staging of the First Parade Division.

From the north, take I-5 south to Pacific Coast Highway, then continue south to Grape Street. Turn right on Grape Street, and then left on Harbor Drive. Go south to Ash Street (just before the Holiday Inn) and turn left on Ash. Make a SAFE U-turn on Ash Street, and then turn right onto Harbor Drive (northbound) to the driveway off the northwest corner of the County Administrative Building (almost right across the street from Anthony's Restaurant). There will be a volunteer standing at the in a red vest to check you in.

From the south, take I-5 north to Hawthorne Street. Take Hawthorne Street down to Harbor Drive, then turn left on Harbor Drive.

There's always room for Jello, as they say, so if you have a friend that would like to volunteer their car for the Parade, bring them along! We will hold volunteer vehicles on the west side of the parking lot and stage on the east side along the building in Order of the Parade.

Don't hesitate to call me should you have any additional questions!

Respectfully,

Hehe, I am south bay but Danny's is about equal as Bennigan's. Going east for me is just too far and harder, lol. Ok I see you all in the morn Steve? I know where Bennigan's is, have no idea where Danny's is since I went there at night and was following Barbie.

I'll be there tomorrow to watch you guys and gals. I'm going early to find good parking and good seating. Nice job and great organizing for this event!!

Wondering where I am!?!?
I would like to thank all of you that made it out today. Especially with all the waiting around and confusion.

I don't know about the other "Riders", mine was shocked at all of the Thank Yous and at how many people showed up.

It was a BIG parade, by the time our 1st group made the route, our second group was still waiting to start. Some did 2 runs... We got alot of great exposure today... The Vets (including me) were thrilled with the turnout. I am positive we will be invited back next year.

Man sorry I missed it. I still feel like crap. Jr is feeling better but this morning we were both in the 103 + range so we didnt wanna risk getting anyone else sick. Hopefully my car will be done for the next few events.
