Its a major gas hog. I dropped a 6.0 in it with a fat tune so it doesnt do so well as a DD. The tranny is also toast at the moment. Its only got first and second gear as of now. I need to get on the ball and order a new tranny asap.

well i got a ticket today on the way to school and i think this is really going to f*ck me over... 93 in a 65.... so idk if imma be able to do traffic school, i have a court date sometime in march but dont know when, i cant read the officers hand writing, hell i cold barely make out my name on the ticket. now before anyone goes saying anything, no i wasnt racing, no i wasnt flying down the freeway late for school or anything, i was only doing 70 until i came up to a group of people doing 60 in the left lane, so i eased on the throttle and went around, and right as i came around the last guy i see a CHP go in the opposite direction which is like 50 yards from me, he got me on radar, i wasnt paying attention to my speed, and you guys know how easy it is to climb up there in the MPHs with out noticing in 5th gear, and i eased back down to 70 again (my cruise was still set for 70) and the next thing i know im getting pulled over and the officer told me i was doing 93 which surprised the hell out of me, can anyone tell me if im screwed? what options i might have?

i still don't believe it even after you told me... and YES, it's easy to hit high speeds in 4v's. at least easier than a 6er... lol! 93 in a 65 though. damn. and that's how i got my second ticket. chp caught me overtaking a guy going 50. said i was doing 78 in a 65... that's when i had my 6. dunno how to help you though. may get some responses on svt though. they have the "donut shop" where you can ask leos questions.

In the past, I have heard people questioned the calibration of the radar the officer was using. Whether it was recently calibrated, what was its deviation and was it within spec or allotment. The officer's experience in using it. Those were questions I've heard and most of the time the guns are calibrated within factory spec and the officer usually have been to continuous refresher training on the use of the gun. But some option you might want to explore.

Shane, did the cop actually write 93 on the ticket? I do know that 25 over is considered reckless driving and the ticket will cost a pretty penny. The judge might give you a break if you have a pretty clean driving record

I'm studying to get my degree in criminal justice and I have a feeling that there isnt much i can do, Im not gunna try and fight and argue with the officer in court, i know those radars are damn accurate and i wasnt paying attention, i know i was speeding at that time and wont deny it, i think i might just plea my case in front of the judge and hope he has mercy on me, i was going to ask my AOJ instructors what I can do since they are both high ranking CHP officers, but I am affraid to ask

Ask them. All cops have gone fast, but like you said, if you're guilty, put yourself at the mercy of the court. We all had to face the music when we make a mistake.

well you were speeding, so no point in figting it.

IMO, go to court, plea guilty to the ticket, and accept the plea bargain from the DA if they give you one. Im pretty sure they will reduce it, dont sweat it too much. Except tfor the hefty fine.

i have a radar detector.... but my damn cigarette lighter is broken so it wont turn on! Danny do you know if im still eligible for traffic school? and i still have to figure out what the court date is

Have you had one in the last 18 months? Also, it depends on the Court, sometimes they won't allow for traffic school if you go over 25 mph of the speed limit. The court will have to decide on that.
