Before S/C??

I already have plans in place to have the Bullitt supercharged during the beginning of this coming year, but now I'm leaning towards maybe forging my internals first (wish Ford would had done that for the Bullitts)... this has just been weighing on my mind b/c I currently have just over 100k on the car, I do keep up on ALL my maintenance, but even so, no point doing it half a**. The owner of Modular Power House in GA said I should be good with the set up I have chosen to go with, but what if I want more later?? Maybe wait on the S/C and drop a 4v in it??? Theres a nice bit of $$$$ involved in that though... just throwing around options, what do you guys think?? I'm looking for the right way to go, not the "quick need power now" route... my final goal I'm trying to achieve is between 400 and 450rwhp, I just want to be able to not worry about anything not withstanding that power....

go with the 4v hell i bet you can sell your motor and help to pay on the new toys better safe than sorry and like you said better in the long run to add more

Forge the internals, but if you were to do all that with engin etorn apart may as well port the heads and add a set of cams to it.

you can get a dss stroker kit for you car with forged internals and with and sc that will put you in that range

I looked at the kits at DSS, thats probably the route I'm going to take, not only will it be a stroker but I will have forged internals and fresh rings.... not over 100k as I do now, thats like a win win win situation!! What do you think the cost of having my block bored would be and the stroker kit installed?? I can pull the motor myself, once I move to the east coast (this Oct) I'll have my old mans garage and his ford ranger to drive while the stang is out of commission...

my buddy bot a 347 from dss and had major issues i would stay away. dude, rebuild yours with forged internals, minor headwork and put on a roots style blower. with an agressive tune mine made 401 with 408 ftlbs at 9lbs of boost but i keep it turned down to 373/388. i plan on putting on a 10lb pulley when i get off my ass and swap the fuel pump and shooting for 430hp race tune. 430-440 is about the max you want to push on stock internals before it eventually says bye bye. i wouldnt do a stroker. not as driveable. there is a replacement for displacement, its called boost.

With a 100 thousand miles a supercharged engine isn't gonna last long if you race it, buy a rebuilt kit with forged crank, h beams, and dished pistons try and lower the compression to 8.5 and possibly do your heads and cam you'll easily make 600 horsepower with 15 LBS of boost.
