SLICKS, torque box's and battle boxes before you ever TRY to luanch higher then 1500 or you will have another worthless fox.....

1000, to 1500, is a good launch RPM becasue of the torque these engines make.... TRUST ME



its alot better to luanch at 1500 and hook then 3 grand and do nothing!

you dont need a huge drag radial to hook... i have seen 1.49 60 ft. with a 28x9.5x15 drag radial..........

Man i hate to say it agian, but just wait for mine..... I'm busting my ass in school trying to finish this shit... on my last 2 semesters.....so i can start making some reall money.... also with this government money coming i have some extra cash.... I really want pha's car... My first mod on that car is going to be gears and Spray!

ok...well then both of you obviously dont know how to drag race. you don't see pro's launching at a grand, and for good reason. you think 5.0's have lots of torque? what about those 600 ft/lb strip only cars? they launch at 4 grand, the peak of their HP and torque, and for good reason.

think about it; you dont want to launch when your car isnt at the height of its power curve, cuz you arent putting the maximum power to the track, you have to accelerate into it. thats why you see guys with the biggest slicks they can fit under their car

if you're launching at 2 grand, and your car isnt sticking....doesnt it make sense to put more tire under there, or a sticker tire at least, so you can get that power that was originally making your tires slip, to stick?

i dont know how else to say it...you can never have 'too much' torque to launch with...if your tires slip, that just means you needs a better or wider tire

but you gotta understand that those are race cars....you drive a street car. they are built to handle contunuise 5000+rpm launches. do that to your fox and your screwed. all were saying is from experiance that a generaly stock fox is faster off the line when launched from a lower rpm. trust me, its true. i have 285-60-16's packed under my rear wheelwell and even those wont hook up when i lau into it in 1st or second. if i ever plan on launching like the pros do i will need slicks or some bad ass d/r's. and then i have to worry about everything else in my car breaking...

the biggest thing is there is a difference in a daily driven street car and a race car...i personally have a street car...what about you?

ok mister, i dont know what im talking about.... Go launch your car at 6000 RPM's and come back and tell me what happens! Your stock rear control arms will be up your REAR!.... YOU DONT HAVE A FULL RACE MUSTANG! WITH STREET TIRES you cant LUANCH OVER 1500 RPM's..........

Sense i dont know what im talking about.... no more advice from me....

MY STOCK MACH 1 i could launch at 3000 RPM's and trust me i would blow your doors off in a drag race... I have proven my self time and time agian.... Im been know to beat fast cars then mine just because i can drive!

ok, i thought you were trying to say that launching at high rpms was just dumb in general. and i was trying to say that you want to launch at higher rpms. so now we're on the same page

shut up. i wasnt asking a question and then bashing the answer. i said, what are some good 50 state legal mods i can do to my motor. some people said gears, i said "but hey, my car dont hook anyway, so wouldnt i need tire first", then everyone started saying i dont really need tire, to just launch at low rpms. then this all started cuz i said id rather have more tire, and launch hire, then the latter. i have other cars, and i had a rail that was strip only, and im pretty sure, no offense, it was faster because it was a mid 7's car, simply cuz it was a rail. your mustang, would probably beat both of mine...and im happy for you. so calm down; i wasnt bashing the answer to my question, and your car is much fast then my mustangs. jesus
