i dont think it would be a good idea to put a modular motor in a notch. i think we should go with a 351 sith a stroke. what kind of numbers are we talkin about making with the race car?

boss 302 bored and stroked to a 351, supercharged 20lbs boost, water methanol injection, viper spec tranny, aluminum driveshaft, fab 9 rearend with custom 4 link, roll cage, 1 aluminum racing bucket seat, full agent 47 suspension, and polycarbinate body panels. we just need to rob a bank.

ok easy. thats the numbers im going to make with my car when im done. im going 69 351w .040 over with a 4" stroke makes it a 408 at 10.5.1 compression ratio n/a ill make 525 easy on pump gas. i think the 351 will be a better route than a 302. we dont have to go with that much compression, lower the compression to 9.2 or so with 20lbs boost. make 700 or so?

sometimes its not all about peak horse power but a balance between horse power and cornering. the race car, what are the primary goals, drag, auto cross, drift, road coarse? combination?

well the boss block and be bored to a 351 if thats your cup of tea. and its lighter, stronger, and the deck height is about .010 higher than a stock 302.

90 normally i would agree with you about the 302 block. but the boss 302 is back and the capabilities are amazing.

well yea... but from my understanding it is going to be a drag car. that why my mind set is where it is.

thats true. it is lighter. stronger than the 69-72 351w blocks? i dont know. i would have to do some research. 69-72 from my understanding are the strongest blocks ford has made. and your talking about making 500 hourse on 20 lbs of boost. when the motor i want to build for mine will make more than that n/a, granted it has much higher compression. but if we are using it for more than just drag then i say go 302.

yea i thought you were talking about making 500 with the boss 302 for the ws race car. and i was saying with the 408 on 20lbs boost would make 7 or 800.

they are so expensive espeacially if you want alot of performance out of them. just take the cams for example. instead of buying one really good profiled cam 3-400 bucks. 4 ok profiled cams 1400+ dollars. it just gets expensive. and the block itself. an 03 cobra motor w/ tranny and wiring harness w/ everything 10000+ plus shipping. we could get the same horsepower out of a 1700 dollar boss 302 block. just throwin it out there. believe me i know where you are coming from i own a cobra but i am just thinkin about bang for the buck.

RIGHT!!! It will be a 351 or 302. Either way it will be stroked and boosted to get over 700hp. Once we have the car, then we can start putting together an engine spec sheet and put it up a few proposals to agree upon. Since it is a club car, those who are involved will get a cut on the final product. Although 1000hp wont be out of the picture if we can get the right equipment at the right price.
