I think I have some pictures I took from that launch somewhere. I'll post some if I find them. I agree, Gibs, that was pretty cool.

look, if your thinking of service, take the asvab. saying your going to be an officer is great but get an idea of where you stand. if you score a ****ing 30 on the asvab, your probably not flying airplanes, your probably not cleaining them even.lol. then think of why you want to serve. think of the pros and cons

yeah the airforce is cake, you can call your boss chuck and the girls look half decent.
the downside, everyone is going to pick on you, its no where near as impressive as another branch on paper, your boss chuck, marines will call him a faggot and he will take it. and the girls, yeah they dont sleep with airmen and you can figure out how i know that.

the navy will probably teach you the most about what your job is, promotion is what you know and not who and you will travel a lot. the downside is you will probably travel on a boat, for some people promotion comes really slow and while its more structured than the airforce depending on where you are its not as structured as other branches.

the army will pay boatloads of money for just about anything, they promote fast, you get all the new gear. you also go to iraq for a year to 18 months at a time. at times they are the laughing stock of ground pounders. again, you can call your boss chuck. depending on where your your at. ive seen really tight army units and ive seen boyscouts in army fatigues. my image of the army has always been a half decent force who takes any knuckle****er to make their quota.

then theres the marines. you get paid little, put up with a lot of bull****, deploy to the ****tiest places under the worst conditions, and prepare to be treated like crap by somebody, somewhere, always. everyone in the marine corps from pvt to colonel gets his feelings hurt at least twice a week. thats the good part. in all honesty, it looks good on paper because its unquestionably the highest level of discipline of all branches and it weighs very heavily on paper. it will undoubtably change you, where as a lot of guys ive met in other branches just put a uniform on. every branch has those guys but we have the least in my opinion. your going to travel the world and meet girls, well a lot of us do, im not making promises. your gonna get a lot of cool stories and a gi bill. you also get tuition assistance but probably wont have the time to use it.

join for the right reasons. dont join for a car, dont join for sideways vagina, dont join for money. join because you want to stand for something and then figure what level of commitment your willing to make and do it.

if your heart is turning a wrench on some 2,500+ hp car, then i say take the best corse that will get you there. because if you join the military and hate what your doing then you'll be misserable.

word up on that. If you dont like what are doing or who you are working for in the military, you cant just quit and just walk out. And if you talk to recriuters dont listen to all of the bS they tell you because they are just trying to make their quotas.

Do your own research. If you have questions, I'm sure someone on here can answer it for you. 02 is right, recruiters is trying to meet quota, they will tell you what they think you want to hear. If you're not careful, you could end up being a cook!
