Thank you yosi couldn't have said it better. This club is a family oriented club and that is the way I like it ran. I really don't think there has to be any bickering between anyone. We all try and help each other out here.....

The owner has the right to list it for whatever the amount they want though. I see your point where in you think it is priced too high. I have no problem with you saying that it is. What I dont want to see and the reason it got locked/deleted is 5 pages of back and forth bickering about it. If you say it is too much and they say it is not then you have stated your oppinion so leave the thread/member alone. No need for Pissing Contests. You are by far not the only one that does this by the way. I am just trying to explain to you why the post/threads get locked or deleted.

fyi, allowing people to go unchecked leads to people that have 4 posts, 3 of them selling a 98 gt for 30k.

As Moderators the "checking of people" is our responsibility. Also as stated earlier noone has said you can not post your oppinion. If you think it is too much state why and move on. Once a member is inactive for a set amount of time they get banned until they become active again. Some of the new members coming on selling things actually help our members out. Not everyone comes her trying to dump off their garbage. Some sell things for a great price. Keep that in mind!!!!

to me, debating is fine... i know people like to express their opinion and i like to voice mine too. a thread can go 100 pages for me, if the people are debating properly and not calling names / making a sailor's language look like a saint's  . i can usually tell when the debate should stop (if i'm part of the debate) and usually don't make anymore comments, as none need to be made after a point.

but, if i read a thread and see that it's boiled down to name calling and posts with more "*****" than actual words, i think posters deserve warnings, posts need deleting, or the threads need a lock / deletion. if people can't voice their opinions in a manner that doesn't involve a bunch of "****", they shouldn't post it. it'll only bring about the person or people they are debating with returning with an even angrier post.

posting opinions is fine, letting the person know what you think is fine, and carrying on a debate for pages on end is fine. but please, do so in a way that won't offend people you are debating / letting know your opinion. :)

Now that is a good idea! It makes the seller some-what active and known (to a point) so that we can understand the person a little better.

or they can just go to the new members section and say "welcome" in 20 of the threads.

i see a solution to the problem i brought up of saying welcome 20 times in the new members section. why not make posts in the new members section not add to your post count? that way new members will have to participate in actual discussions and not attain a post count number by just spamming one forum?

i've seen it done by older members here too, trying to attain a high post count number, by just posting a "welcome" in that section. making posts in that section not increase the post count will solve that problem. :)

I always post Welcome in the new members threads! It is not because I am lazy...it is because most dont ever come back to that thread to begin with! It is not to raise my post count nor do I think what you guys are talking about is worth the hassle. I have not seen a new guy go to those threads and say welcome 20 times either. If they come here just to sell something and it is priced right then who cares????? You guys are blowing this way out of proportion.

most any forum you go on you have to have xx number of posts. Who cares how they get 20 posts. You have to know the website to know you can just go to new members and welcome them. If we make users have 20 post minimun to post in the classifides section, thatll eliminate some drama. Just like will just anyone buy something on ebay with less than 5 or xx number of sales. And those with less than 90% feedback. We should have something to credit those that sell on this site. I know ive bought a couple things from members and had them ship across the states with no problem. Maybe have a buyer feedback percent or sale post count show wear the the user name is.

Why dont we just make it to where they have to donate 5 bucks to the site in order to post in the classifieds....... and if they just show up and post a for sale add then the mods will delete them!

i wasn't aiming my post at anyone... with a new solution, sometimes comes a new problem. and i thought of a solution to the new problem. the new members section is by far the easiest section to spam and where most people would go to bypass the 20 post minimum set on them, if it were made. making posts in that section not affect post count would stop that problem.

I disagree entirely! I have never seen in the past year any new member come into the new members area and post 20 times. It is like you are trying to fix a problem that does not exist!!!! Hell you can barely get new members to come in and introduce themselves in the new members section must less post WELCOME 20 times.

I like Yosi's idea. You have to be a donator to be able to post in the classifieds.

naw, i'd rather stick to a post min. having to donate to have a sig. and other privilages, then having to donate to sell stuff? why not just make this a pay site?

with min. posts, they'd have to be active first before selling something. i think mach 1 reg and 3.8mustang enforce the min post thing too, and a similar thing with svtperf.

donating might work. But how many people on here sell things and not a donator. But that is a good idea. So the first thing they sell can donate $5 of that. Can we get a poll started and vote on that?
