Easy solution. Require 20 post minimum to post in the classified section.

The only issue with that is the fact that people will pass on being a member here and post their classified ad elsewhere, potentially making one of our members miss a good deal.

I disagree entirely! I have never seen in the past year any new member come into the new members area and post 20 times. It is like you are trying to fix a problem that does not exist!!!! Hell you can barely get new members to come in and introduce themselves in the new members section must less post WELCOME 20 times.

that's the point... how'd you feel buying something from someone who isn't active most of the time? the price may be good and you may get in contact, but then they fall off the face of the earth after you send your payment. having a post min. to post in the for sale section detracts 1 post wonders from having the chance at doing that.

if someone isn't willing to make 20 quality posts, and not just "welcome" in the new members section, why allow them to sell stuff here?

exactly. Or they could just get a member that does have that many post it for them. Then you know who you can count on.

Will anyone on here spend $500 on a part and send money to someone you never met that only has 5 post counts and only been on one a month?

Well first off if I am stupid enough to send payment to someone that I do not know then I deserve to get fooled. That is just the name of the game. I do see your point but I do not think making new members threads not count for posts is the fix.

Lets not fix the unbroken wheel...... There was nothing wrong except people that are members went into a thread and continued to complain about a price, basically threadjacking a for sale item. The person who posted the item was not in the wrong. Why should we fix a problem by punishing the victim......

Just saying.

we make it so new members have to have 20 posts (not hard to do) to post in the for sale section. you don't think they'd head to the new members section and post "welcome" twenty times in twenty threads just to bypass it? heck i could go to that section right now and start posting "welcome" in every single thread and have a post count equal to yours by the end of the night.

now if we made posts in that section not add to your post count, then those new members may actually make relevant threads introducing themselves, etc., etc.

and what about the deals? don't you want someone posting a 3.4 whipple for $1500? who wouldn't jump on that? then after the payment is sent, the member falls off the earth. having a post min keeps that from happening. and taking away the easiest forum to spam as a tool for them to bypass the post min. would work.

having to donate to post in the for sale section just detracts anyone from selling stuff. we're trying to make money... not spend it. if i can sell freely on mach1reg., svtperf., and 3.8mustang, but just have to have a post min... and see that i have to pay here to sell... i'm not coming here. esp. if ebay would charge me LESS to sell my item.

No they will go elsewhere.....I wouldnt put that much effort into possibly selling something. Most members here are on all the other forums anyway, so I would not mess around with driving up a post count to post here....just goto another forum.

ahhhhh.... back to the Original Posters comments

I think that being a moderator is harder work then most people can imagine. I think most things that a moderator does is a "judgement" call. Like elected officials, you put them in power and you have to trust what you they decide.

So if it was shut down, it was done for a good reason.

I think it is perfectly fine to post your opinion about a modorators actions, but I do think the original post in this thread was a bit harsh. It made it sound as if the moderators here have to have the last word and then cut everyone else off. In other words, an abuse of power. I think that is a bit harsh. And I personally (being a person with many unpopular opinions) don't see that happening on this board.

I think people should post their opinion, make it clear and then move on. Not living up to their "God" posting status and make drama.

Good Job WS Mods! Thats my opinion.

x2

we all may have our own opinions, but that's what makes us effective. while one may see something one way, another person can bring up another viewpoint. in the end, it all works out. :)

Ahh internet Drama...I guess I should make my post since I am getting lit up for being "Stupid" . At no point did I price the cobra for 12k, 10k yes, That is because I have no idea what they were going for, I am not trying to make any money off of it. When I was so politley corrected I dropped it till it got closer to time for me going home. I would like to get 7-8 for it, but if I put that someone would offer me 5 and then chop it up, that is not what this car deserves. This car is a member of the Wicked Stangs family I would like it to stay that way in one piece. So while I am out here catching bad guys and making bodies..I would appreciate if you wait for me to talk about my over priced Cobra

7-8 is a little more reasonable. but you know what man, if someone wants to buy it to chop it, sell it. its just a car. if someone wanted to buy mine and part it out i would sell it. and ive got a buttload in my car too. cars like that are hard to sell, and not only do you lose money but the kind of people that will buy them, know how hard it is to sell them, and dont just want a deal, they want a steal. if you said 10 i would bitch til you said 7, then offer 5, then take the tranny and part it out. thats just the way it goes man. someone will prolly do that to my car. its just what happens.

where exactly are you stationed that your makin bodies? its not in iraq, that wars over.lol. afganhistan?
