MUSTANGS vs THE WORLD PART 1 25 JAN 2009

Anybody give me a ballpark call on how fast a Stock Shelby GT would run? I'm thinking High 9's?

I believe that you have some suspension mods, CAI ( no tune), axcel backs, and a dash plate that is good for 30 hp I am just kidding with a good driver knowing the car I dont think a low 9 wouldn't be out of the question. With some sticky tires you may break into the 8's

I'm pretty quick on the shifter, however, this will be my 1st runs so I will be easing into it.
I thought the Shelby dash plate gave me 40 HP....LOL

I don't know sailor, My dad's Bullitt can run high 8's, so your probably in the mid 9's if it is all stock, my dad's isn't.

I believe the Shelby GT has a FRPP-type tune, similar to the Bullitts. May be mistaken. 319 HP in the 2008s.

My Showroom Stock GT/CS with less than 300 miles (and a Bama 91-octane tune) on it ran consistent 9.5-9.6s at Qualcomm last September.

It ran 9.6s with 3600 miles (and 19" wheels) on it under pretty much the same conditions on the 19th December.

I'd have to guess the Shelby GT will be at least a couple of tenths quicker than that, based on the Shelby badge, if nothing else.

Maybe my Shelby strut brace and pedal covers count for something?

I would have to agree with Frank. The SGT should run a tad faster than a Stock GT. It is actually the same setup as the Bullitt is stock. Has the FRPP tune, FRPP GTA Axlbacks, Xpipe, suspension, strut tower brace and a short throw shifter....Not that some of that matters but it should run decent stock.

Does anyone know what time we will need to be up at Barona for check in if we are running? I may have to go out of town on Friday and come back Sunday morning. The earliest flight I can get lands in San Diego at 9:15am.

Just get there when you can. We'll be racing until 4PM. Racing doesn't start until 10AM, so you will have plenty of time.

I will be going out of town that Friday. Just got finalized. I will try to make Barona by 11. My plane lands at 9:15, hope its on time.

I just got my PLX Wide band A/F gauge installed. With the help of wiring guru Xavier lol. Now I have something to stare at lol.

ill have to see what our underway sched is and whe i have duty would love to play in this one

I think that I might have one of those, I will check in the morning.

Yeah i might take her for a spin today and check it out. I found out that i am at 24 degrees timing though.

Racers,

I spoke with Rick from Barona today and I asked him what time the gates will actually open on the 25th. He said that the gates will be open as early as 7AM, so for those who want to get there early to change tires and what not you'll have plenty of time.

Once again: GATES WILL BE OPEN AT 7AM
