Racers,

I spoke with Rick from Barona today and I asked him what time the gates will actually open on the 25th. He said that the gates will be open as early as 7AM, so for those who want to get there early to change tires and what not you'll have plenty of time.

Once again: GATES WILL BE OPEN AT 7AM

Call him back and tell him to get our name right on his site:(

And that will be the end of my ride! LOL

At the beginning of all this I asked for a little clarification about "grudge races" and that there was a possibility there would NOT be enough time for these. The point was made that "IF" there was time after all the racing was done, THEN there would be grudge races. I made the point that if there was a possibility that there would be no time for grudge races, it would be a pity since some of us are spending a ton of money getting ready for this only to be told "maybe you'll get a chance to race and maybe you won't". It's really risky, financially to buy gears, get custom tunes and the like for ONE race only to find out you may not even get the chance.

When i asked this before, my post was deleted and a stern warning that only posts directly related to the event would be allowed in the thread. Well, here we are 7 pages later and there's a ton of posts less about this event than mine was.

I hope that the racing is complete before nightfall. I'm not comfortable dong this when my vision isn't at it's best. Surely we can make time for Phil's and my race BEFORE it get's dark, right? Or do we REALLY have to wait till everyone else has run?

Well, someone has their wires crossed because this statement is in another thread....

"If there is time at the end there will be grudge racing. If you want to run someone call them out and go race!"

10:00 AM TO 04:00 PM Sun 25-Jan NHRA SUMMIT SERIES #2/WICKED STANGS/5.80 INDEX CARS/ T & T GAMBLER GRUDGE

That is 6 hours of racing.... You can get Grudge Matches all day...

OK, now I'm REALLY confused.

Grudge races can be squeezed in, in between other races, whenever both racers are ready?

That line about waiting until all the races are done that's in the first post on page one is no longer accurate?

GT400SC there is 5 or 6 lanes.. Wicked Stangs is going to have one lane when the event starts... T&T Gambler Grude has another lane that is the lane you will be racing Phil and everyone in wicked stangs will be racing too. You will race as many times as possible until our event starts. And even when our event is going on, you can still race there in the T&T Gambler Grude. Remember our event is going to be single elimination event if you run a 8.5 all day your going to want to be in the 8.0 class if you run 8.8 your going to want to be in the 9.0 class your just going to have to let off at the end... If you pick a 9.0 class and run 8.9 your disqualified...

I am going to make ONE run as I mentioned MONTHS ago. I am going to race Phil ONE time. No multiple passes, no practice, no brackets, nothing.

Just ONE PASS. That's what I asked for and what we agreed to.

We'll work it out and fit it in there somewhere, no biggie.

I am not going there to be in all the racing. I am going to support the club, spend 99% of my time watching and race ONE TIME.

The way it was explained was that the one time grudge races were at the end after everyone else....IF there's time.

I still don't quite undertand but I'm sure it will all work out.

I'd like to but I can't afford a tune and ModularMuscle said he'd try his luck writing one for me but I haven't heard anything and it's almost too late now. I have made changes to the car that require a tune to take full advantage of those changes. Without a tune, it won't be 100%. No use trying to coax the car into doing something it's not set up to do. That's why the truck is the better option.

Forgive me if I've missed the info elsewhere but are a bunch of us meeting somewhere and going up as a group? I've never been where we're going! LOL
