i have a comp. orange mach, but also just purchased a steeda wing. wanted to see what it would look like, luckily i ran into someone with a steeda wing installed on their orange mach, so i got a preview. thought people would also like to visualize how a steeda wing would look on a mach.

i WILL have pics of my mach with the steeda wing on it once i get it, though.

one is the R code that costs more in insurance

the machs are exact exact for 1 vin letter.

all machs have the r code. it's one of the things that make them a mach.

if the vin of a "mach" doesn't contain the letter "r" in it, it's not a mach. it's how you can spot a fake mach. the vin will always give it away.

NO, but the Mach 1's will have an old distinctive 'R' Engine Code in the VIN #, this is unique to the Mach 1's only.

if someone tells you they have a non r-code mach 1, i have a brand spanking new convertible mach 1 to sell you also. :lol:

the ONLY mach 1 to NOT have an r code was the first prototype mach unveiled. it had bullitt side skirts and an "x" code like the cobras. but that mach WASN'T a production mach 1. ALL production mach 1's have the r code in the vin. like mach1registry said, it's unique to mach 1's only. any 03/04 car claiming to be a mach 1, without the r code in the vin started life as something other than a mach 1.

p.s.

do you know why non r-code mach 1's are cheaper on isurance? most likely, they are coming up as v6's and gt's and NOT mach 1's when insurance companies look up the vin numbers. when insurance companies look up my vin and see the r code, they see it's a mach 1.

also I have a buddy who bought his brand new from ford and it wasnt an r code.

I cant remember if it ws the last of 04 or beggining of 03

also all he stuff written out is prior to fords release of the mach 1

again, the ONLY reason those non r-code "machs" are cheaper on insurance is because they ARE NOT coming up as mach 1's. and if you did sell a non r-code mach one, can you sell my convertible one as well? :lol:

if all the machs DID NOT have the r code, what makes them special then? anyone can put a shaker on any mustang and claim it's a mach 1. it's the r code which designates it as a factory produced mach 1.

i bet you can go on mach1registry and make a poll. ask them if their machs have the r code in the vin. the ones who have real machs will have the r code. whether they have an 03 or an 04. the only mach to not get the r code was the prototype.
