He told me that he would let the clutch almost catch when he used the line loc and sort of power braked the car almost.

Then it would be absolutely pointless to use a linelock on the starting line with a stick car. All it does is lock your front brakes. Maybe he meant he could do better burnouts to heat up his tires with the line lock and that helped his times. If you can get up to the line and your car isn't rolling than there is no reason to use it on take off. It's not like you can pre-load the clutch.

In theory I see where he's coming from... but to me it would sound like one more thing to worry about, you would need to get use to letting the lineloc go at the precise time. But I understand what he means by the lineloc being applied and letting the clutch out to where it's just starting to engage and the lineloc holding the car still until the tree drops, but still too much to be going on to worry about letting the button go exactly when you want the car to go... hope that made sense...

That's a good way to start glazing your flywheel. I would say adjust your clutch better and save your parts. I still don't see it being worth 2 tenths, but whatever. Like you said........too much going on.

sorry the kid races on slicks. thats what happens when you put 5k under your hood and 600 bucks under your car. buy better tires buddy. besides i still turn 8.40s and 8.50s on my drag radials.

Well then if you ddo that on DR's then it should be somewhat even then. EIther way, will be fun.
