See VP Im not the only bad ACE around here lol Emilio let me know.. I am going to try to either talk or write to SCT to give them a list of my mods to change the tuner over. Do you know if SCT has same option as Diablo to choose betwen Automatic and Man that was GT400's only concern but I think it should somewhere. I just need the tune for my mods
I haven't installed it yet. I emailed a friend of mine at Whipple and told him what I wanted to do. He told me NOT to do it because the Ford Racing Tune that came with the SC won't handle the additional airflow without a custom tune (at MY expense) and I don't have the money for that. Even if I did, it might void my supercharger warranty since I'm not using the supplied tune.
Secondly, even if you COULD get someone to retune, the aluminum housing the STOCK throttle body mounts to has smaller diameter openings and people who have tried this combination had interference with the butterflies hitting the smaller holes and the divider in the Whipple housing. It's not the same as the opening in the stock plastic manifold.
It sucks but I traded for something I can't even use!
OH I see.. basicaly you would have to port whipple to get it to work with the blades on T.B. Damn wish you would have read up on this before trade I feel bad now
See how the housing has two bores in it? With the butterflies from the BBK rubbing, you run the risk of jamming the throttle open unable to close it and well....we all know what that means!
Compare those openings with the WIDEMOUTH opening of the stock manifold.
OH I C well I dont want you butt hurt at me lol but not that bad I need the tuner bad so I can do my other mods. I will ask around to some of the guys one base though and post it on Nimitz website to try to help you get rid of it
For the help I'm willing to give you repairing your hood at no cost, except for a couple of beers (That alone you said saves you $300 in repairs) I would think that you'd trade it back since you already have another tuner and just chalk this up something that didn't work out.
