okay, still looking into parts and i found that a spool is stronger and lighter and cheaper than a posi diff. anyone know the pro's and con's to going this route.

ok.....can you explain y? just bad on turns? or just impossible to daily drive.

You want to drive that thing daily. You can't make turns with a spool at any kind of speed what so ever. You have to go very slow or you will tear some **** up! Hitting sharp turning on ramps won't be any fun either. The car can spin out of control in a hurry.

I would say only use it for a 90% drag 10% street car. You can find info online where people say they aren't that bad, but trust me...............don't do it.

i ran a locked differential on my old talon. turns arn't as bad as people make them out to be as long as your moving. slow speeds you'll hear the rear pop/jump around

alright......bobby, you know i trust your input. i was just excited because spools are like 300 bucks cheaper, lighter and you get better traction. less breakable parts too. just stick with posi tho

Eric has a Eaton/Detroit locker they are pricey($625!!), but if you didn't care about it clunking all of the time it may be better suited for your needs. They are locked together all of the time and unlock when a difference in torque is sensed as in when making a turn.

From what I hear the tru-tracs are badass as well. If I were you I would grab one of those. Better than a limited slip and cheaper than the Eaton/Detroit locker. Won't make as much noise either.

You do not want a spool in,on,or around a daily driver. I used to push a race car around and turning the wheels would make 5 adults grunt to move.
