StreetLegals Canceled 1/9??

I went all the way down to the Q on friday night. Spent all that time on GT500, just to find no one there but several angry racers.

Unless I missed something, there was no post on their website that it was canceled. The race date was there a week ago and when I got home friday night, the date had been removed.

I know they lost one of their major sponsors, which doesn't surprise me. This place is a joke. And yes, I am pissed off.

They have no clue on how to run a race track. I am surprised that they have made it this long. Even the police don't hardly show up to race and support the track anymore. Track prep is terrible, bad lighting, no score board, you may or may not get a time slip.

I was going to try to help them out, but I think this program is too far gone and I can see it's days are numbered.

I have just had to many bad experiences there. Picked up a bolt in my tire one time (on the track). Had someone with a golf cart loaded with tables come around a corner and lose their load, causing all the stuff to hit my car. I got a star in my windshield from a rock.

I think it is time for me to start going to Barona and putting my support behind them. I might go out on occasion to the Q, but they need to get their act together.

Sorry, I had to vent. Pretty sad when their "Breaking News" dates all the way back to Aug of 2008.

i hung out with one of the announcers Danny last night, and he said that their loosing their funding to the events. he said it cost about $3500 for each event in costs which includes that ambulance, the parking lot lights and so on.

i would love to go to Barona but its a decent drive from Chula Vista

Misled, its 35 miles to Barona from Chula Vista and its a much better track and worth the drive. I ran there yesterday and its night and day compare to the Q. I picked up at least 3 tenths on my time. The track is prep professionally and people that works there actually knows what they're doing. The only bad thing at Barona is its difficult with my work schedule. If they continue to have Sunday runs, I'll be there more then the Q.

i would love to go to barona. just the Q is about a mile from where i work, takes me 5 minutes to get there. but i'll be at the Mustangs vs the world event

I went from like an 8.9 at the Q to a 7.62 at Barona. It helps to have a track and not a damned parking lot!!!!

Although helping them might be a nice gesture, it may just be delaying the inevitable.

Emilio I e-mailed the lady there and asked if she like our club to help out with everything from taking money, setting up cones, staging lanes ect. I never got a e-mail back. I just asked that they thank us over speakers through out the night as well as let us park a few cars up front. I got no response!

Guys dont threat the "Q" will be back up soon I am sure. Once they have a bad accident from street racers they will find the funding.

Remember guys if barona gets busier they will have to post more dates. Most of you heard that they are going to start having more Fridays night races depending on the "Q" I think its a good thing and bad as long as they get more business and we get quite a few passes in I am all for it you know. If it brings out a bad crowed and the street racers that run around parking lot at racelegal doing burnouts and **** **** race legal let it sink. I tried to help and send them a life line from our club but never heard a eat crap or hey sounds great ect.. Oh well...
Lets suport Barona and have more club time up there at a real track!

I volunteered there ONCE! I was treated like crap and the attitude towards me was like I was doing Community Service. I took a day off of work that Friday.

Until they get their sh!t into one sock, that place is a falure waiting to happen.
